Prime Minister: Additional support of 5-10 million VND for households to build and repair houses after natural disasters

On the morning of January 7, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired an online conference with provinces and cities in the Central region on the situation of rapid implementation of the "Quang Trung Campaign" to rebuild and repair houses for households whose houses were damaged by storms and floods in the Central region.

Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee: Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; Vice Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Ha Thi Nga.

Implementing the direction of the Prime Minister, ministries, branches and localities continue to promote the "Quang Trung Campaign". To date, in localities, 1,046/1,597 new houses for people have been completed, reaching 65.5%. The remaining houses that need to be rebuilt have been started, the construction progress has reached from 60 to more than 80% of the volume.

Most localities have committed to completing the rebuilding of houses for people before and within January 15. A few households in Lam Dong and Dak Lak have a need to build houses on a larger scale, so they are slower, but still complete before the 14th National Party Congress and before Tet.

The Ministry of National Defense has directed units to mobilize 249,497 officers, soldiers and militia, 8,935 vehicles of all kinds to coordinate with localities to support people in rebuilding 619 new houses that have collapsed, collapsed, or been washed away; and repair 363 damaged houses.

The Ministry of Public Security mobilized more than 11,000 officers and soldiers to support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters; supported 50 million VND/newly built houses in localities (1 billion VND in Ha Tinh alone, 100 million VND/house); mobilized resources to support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters with a total value of more than 120 billion VND; presided over the construction of 420 new houses that were completely collapsed.

Concluding the conference, the Prime Minister requested the entire local political system to mobilize maximum forces, especially the Army, Police, and socio-political organizations to contribute, join hands to "work 3 shifts, 4 teams", "overcome the sun, overcome the rain, do not lose the weather"... so that "Quang Trung Campaign" can be completed on target, for the joy and happiness of the people.

Along with building houses for people, the Prime Minister requested localities to urgently restore electricity, water, telecommunication waves, environmental sanitation, and transportation infrastructure; especially review the essential needs of people, especially equipment such as TVs, refrigerators, etc.

Thereby mobilizing resources, calling for support so that all people have the conditions to enjoy the exciting atmosphere, watching the 14th National Party Congress; enjoy the fruits of the Party and State to bring to the people, as well as celebrate a warm, safe and healthy Lunar New Year.

The Prime Minister proposed to support 34,759 households in 8 provinces and cities in the Central region with houses that need to be repaired with 5 million VND per household and support nearly 5,000 households with collapsed and drifted houses that need to be rebuilt nationwide from the beginning of the year to date, each household with 10 million VND so that households have funds to restore production and purchase essential items and equipment.

In addition to the "Quang Trung Campaign", the Prime Minister requested the remaining provinces and cities across the country to continue reviewing households that have suffered damage to their houses due to natural disasters and floods in recent times.

In the spirit of "mutual love", localities balance their budgets and mobilize social resources to immediately support essential household items such as TVs, refrigerators, etc. for those in need, ensuring that all people enjoy the same as in 8 provinces and cities in the Quang Trung Campaign.
