Basic salary increases to 2.53 million VND, highest doctor salary exceeds 20 million VND/month
From July 1, 2026, the base salary will increase to 2.53 million VND/month, the highest salary of doctors may exceed 20 million VND/month excluding allowances.
The Government issued Decree No. 161/2026/ND-CP stipulating the base salary and bonus regime for cadres, civil servants, public employees and armed forces. Accordingly, the base salary will increase to 2,530,000 VND/month from July 1, 2026.
Currently, doctors at public health facilities receive salaries according to the coefficients specified in Decree 204/2004/ND-CP. Therefore, when the base salary increases, doctors' income also increases correspondingly.
Senior doctors can receive salaries ranging from about 15.68 million VND to more than 20.24 million VND/month, an increase of a maximum of about 1.52 million VND/month compared to the present. In which, the highest salary exceeds the milestone of 20 million VND/month.
For the main doctor, the expected salary ranges from about 11.13 million VND to more than 17.15 million VND/month. Meanwhile, the doctor rank can receive from about 5.92 million VND to nearly 12.6 million VND/month after adjustment.
The above salaries do not include allowances, subsidies and other supports.
