On January 12, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province worked on the drainage project outside Long Thanh airport (phase 1) and requested the completion of procedures and start of the project in June 2026.

According to the Provincial People's Committee, the project has a total investment of more than 1,200 billion VND in phase 1, invested in construction to serve drainage for 5 regulating lakes, which will be built in the airport area to prevent flooding for Long Thanh airport.

The project implementation process will carry out dredging, reinforcing embankments and solidifying nearly 20 km of Bung Mon and Da Vang streams; building pipelines from regulating lakes in Long Thanh airport to these two streams; At the same time, nearly 17 km of rural roads will be built along both sides of Bung Mon and Da Vang streams, upgrading and constructing 5 new bridges on these 2 streams (3 bridges on Bung Mon stream and 2 bridges on Da Vang stream).
