Lang Son - Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh led the working delegation with Lang Son province on election preparation.

On January 7, the Inspection and Supervision Team of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Election Council led by Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh worked with the Lang Son Provincial Election Committee on preparations for the election of 16th National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

The report at the meeting said that the People's Committee of Lang Son province has issued a decision to establish a Provincial Election Committee with 31 members; at the same time, establish subcommittees and working groups to advise on the development of plans and documents guiding the work, synthesize reports and prepare facilities for elections according to regulations.

At the provincial level, by December 31, 2025, the locality has established 3 National Assembly Delegation Election Committees and 13 Provincial People's Council Delegation Election Committees.

At the commune level, the Party Committees of communes and wards all establish an Election Steering Committee headed by the Party Secretary. To date, 65/65 People's Committees at the commune level have issued decisions to establish the Election Committee and the Election Committee of People's Council delegates at the commune level for the 2026-2031 term in accordance with regulations.

After the first meeting of the bargaining process, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province proposed that the National Assembly Standing Committee consider adjusting the structure of local delegates running for National Assembly delegates.

Lang Son province elected 7 National Assembly deputies of the 16th tenure, including 4 deputies residing and working in the locality, 3 deputies introduced by the Central Government.

For the Provincial People's Council, the negotiation conference agreed on the number of elected delegates to be 50 people, introducing 95 candidates to ensure the balance according to regulations.

At the commune level, the total number of People's Council delegates elected for the 2026-2031 term is 1,271 people; the number of people recommended for the first run of talks is 2,427 people.

In the coming time, the Steering Committee and the Election Committees at all levels of the province will continue to promote propaganda about the purpose and significance of the election.

Proactively orient the structure, composition, and number of delegates according to the approved personnel project; strive to ensure a high voter turnout, sufficient number, correct structure, and compliance with the law.

The working groups will strengthen inspections and guidance in areas with a large number of voters, promptly removing arising difficulties.

Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh highly appreciated the proactiveness and seriousness of Lang Son province in election preparation work.

According to him, the implementation steps up to now have basically followed the plan closely, in accordance with the regulations and instructions of the Central Government; the allocation of structure, components, and number of delegates ensured requirements and had the necessary balance.

The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the province continue to focus on personnel work, ensuring the quality and capacity of candidates; at the same time, implementing democratic, equal, safe, economical elections, truly a festival for all people.

Localities need to prepare plans to handle possible situations; promptly resolve complaints and denunciations of citizens before, during and after the election; increase propaganda at the grassroots level, especially in the context of the election time close to the 14th National Party Congress and Lunar New Year.

At the meeting, the working delegation also listened to a report on the results of the implementation of the election work in Ky Lua ward.
