Ninh Binh accelerates flexible power projects, replaces old thermal power plants
Ninh Binh - Along with relocating the thermal power plant, the province is making efforts to put Ninh Binh Flexible Power Plant into operation in 2027.
The Ninh Binh Flexible Power Plant Project will be invested and built in Kim Dong Commune (Kim Son District, Ninh Binh Province) with a total area of 73 hectares, with a capacity of 300MW. The project is invested by a consortium of investors, Power Generation Corporation 3-CTP and Thuan Hai Transport Service Joint Stock Company.
Mr. Nguyen Cao Son - Vice Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee - said that the investment and construction of Ninh Binh Flexible Power Plant along with the suspension of operation and relocation of Ninh Binh Thermal Power Plant aims to thoroughly solve the problem of environmental pollution in the central area of Hoa Lu city and urban beautification in a civilized and modern direction, in line with the viewpoints and orientations of urban development of Ninh Binh province.
To speed up the implementation progress, soon complete the above goals and tasks, and at the same time contribute to ensuring energy security and serving socio-economic development, the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province has assigned the People's Committee of Kim Son district to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to clearly identify the location, area, scope, and appropriate boundaries of the Flexible Power Plant, the direction of the connecting lines, and connecting points.
At the same time, urgently implement local adjustments to the general construction plan of the area from Binh Minh II dike to Con Noi and review relevant plans, if necessary, immediately implement the adjustment, ensuring legality to implement the project.
The People's Committee of Ninh Binh province assigned the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units based on current regulations, study the form of investor selection and advise on specific procedures for implementation, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
The People's Committee of Ninh Binh province has also requested Power Generation Corporation 3, Thuan Hai Transport Service Joint Stock Company, Ninh Binh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company - JSC, Ninh Binh Power Transmission, to closely coordinate with local departments, branches and sectors to deploy investment procedures for the construction of Ninh Binh Flexible Power Plant and relocation of Ninh Binh Thermal Power Plant.
"Ninh Binh province is making efforts to speed up the implementation of the investment project to build Ninh Binh Flexible Power Plant, striving to generate half a capacity by the end of 2027, the beginning of 2028 and 100% of the capacity by 2029. After Ninh Binh Flexible Power Plant comes into operation, it will stop operation and relocate the thermal power plant" - Vice Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Cao Son said.
