Nghe An supports an additional 100,000 VND for meritorious people and social protection beneficiaries

On January 1, 2026, information from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said that the locality had decided to allocate the budget to give gifts to people with revolutionary contributions, social protection beneficiaries and pensioners in the area.

According to the Prime Minister's decision issued on December 28, Nghe An is supported by the Central Government with nearly 114 billion VND to implement the gift-giving policy of the Party and State. The whole province has 86,607 people with meritorious services to the revolution and 198,390 social protection and pensioners receiving gifts at the rate of 400,000 VND/person, paid in cash.

In addition to the central budget, Nghe An province also supports an additional 100,000 VND/person from the local budget. Thus, each beneficiary will receive a total of VND 500,000 on the occasion of the National Congress of the Party and the Lunar New Year 2026.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Home Affairs to coordinate with localities to organize payment to the right subjects, ensuring progress, publicity and transparency. Currently, Nghe An is paying regular allowances to 62,679 beneficiaries, with a total cost of about 200 billion VND per month. In 2025, the province will have 297 more cases of meritorious people and relatives whose benefits will be resolved; 7 martyrs will be recognized and granted the Certificate of Merit.

In the same year, the locality paid a one-time subsidy and funeral fees to 6,033 meritorious people, relatives of meritorious people and people directly participating in the resistance war, with a total amount of more than 105 billion VND. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026, the whole province presented gifts to 157,416 people with meritorious services and their relatives with a total amount of over 50.2 billion VND.
