Nghe An marks 222 National Assembly deputies through the ages
Nghe An - To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the General Election, Nghe An summarizes the activities of the 15th National Assembly Delegation and sets out preparations for the 16th term.
On December 29, the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province held a meeting to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026) and summarize the activities of the XV National Assembly Delegation, term 2021-2026.
Attending the program were Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, delegates of Nghe An delegation; along with leaders of National Assembly agencies, the National Assembly Office, leaders of Nghe An province and the National Assembly Delegation of Ha Tinh province.
At the program, delegates reviewed the event of the National General Election on January 6, 1946 - the election that elected 333 first-term National Assembly delegates, marking the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and opening a new step in the development of democratic institutions.

Up to now, our country has held 15 National Assembly elections, with Nghe An alone having 222 delegates elected through terms, of which 2 delegates participated in 6 sessions; 3 delegates participated in 4 sessions; 12 delegates participated in 3 sessions; 7 delegates participated in 2 sessions and 169 delegates participated in 1 session.
Presenting a speech at the meeting, Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An - emphasized the 8-year journey of the Vietnamese National Assembly associated with the maturity of the Socialist Republic's rule of law state.

Ms. Sinh said that the 2021-2026 term is a term that clearly demonstrates the spirit of "responsibility and action", when the Provincial National Assembly Delegation focuses on improving the quality of participation in law-making; strengthening supervision of areas of concern to voters such as land, environment, social security and infrastructure; at the same time, innovating voter contact activities according to topics and groups of issues.
Speaking at the program, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Do Van Chien acknowledged the continuous contributions of the Nghe An National Assembly Delegation through the terms, especially the 15th term. He assessed the delegation's statements and recommendations as "correct, accurate, and in line with local practices", contributing to the National Assembly's issuance of a number of mechanisms and policies to remove difficulties and mobilize resources for the development of the North Central region in general and Nghe An in particular.
Regarding the direction for the coming time, Mr. Do Van Chien suggested that the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province continue to closely follow the requirements of socio-economic development, monitor key areas; carefully prepare for the election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; at the same time, coordinate with localities to take care of Tet for policy beneficiaries and vulnerable people, ensuring a warm and safe welcome to the Binh Ngo Spring.
On this occasion, the National Assembly Standing Committee presented the "For the Cause of the National Assembly of Vietnam" Medal to 15 individuals; the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee presented Certificates of Merit to 11 collectives and 29 individuals who have contributed to the activities of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.
