Launching ceremony of energy saving in response to Earth Hour

The launching ceremony was held at the walking space of Tran Nhan Tong street, Nguyen Du ward, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi city. Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and many other units have accompanied the program.

Attending were Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long, Mr. Bui Hoang Tung - Secretary of the Government Youth Union, Ms. Kristina Buende - Head of the European Union Cooperation Committee in Vietnam, Ms. Le Thi Duc - Vice Chairman of Vietnam Industry and Trade Union, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang - Director of Innovation Department, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion, Ministry of Industry and Trade.

On EVN's side, there were EVN Deputy General Director Vo Quang Lam and leaders of the Group's professional departments.

In 2025, with the message "Green transition - Green future", the Ministry of Industry and Trade hopes to launch a movement with stronger influence in the community, not simply calling on all people to save electricity, but more widely and higher. This includes sustainable energy production activities, increased use of renewable energy sources, and the use of products and equipment with high energy efficiency to improve energy efficiency in both economic and environmental aspects.

The launching ceremony "All people save energy in response to Earth Hour 2025" is a program in a series of activities focusing on responding to the Earth Hour 2025 Campaign. The event aims to spread the message "Enserve energy - Make habits", implementing Directive 20/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on increasing energy savings for the period 2023-2025 and the following years.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long said that from the initiative of the international organization on nature conservation (WWF) to raise community awareness about climate change and energy -saving worldwide, in the past 15 years, the Earth Hour Event in Vietnam has attracted the attention and response of 63 provinces and cities and millions of people in all different classes. The results of the program contribute practically to raising the awareness of the community in particular and the process towards the net zero target of Vietnam in general. As the host of Earth Hour Event for many years, within the framework of the national program on economical and efficient use of energy in the period of 2019-2030, the Ministry of Industry and Trade continues to launch "All people save energy in response to the Earth Hour 2025" with the message "Green Moving - Blue Future". Many activities in response will be organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in this March such as: The Running Prize in response to "All people save energy in response to Earth Hour 2025", Online Contest learns about energy saving in the Earth Hour in 2025, the contest "Propaganda saving electricity" ... Especially, the event turns off the lights within an hour of the Earth Government will take place from 20:30 to 21:30 am, 3.2025.

It is known that the Run has attracted nearly 2,000 amateur athletes, amateur athletes from units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and ministries, branches, domestic and foreign organizations, businesses, as well as a large number of people who love running, contributing to raising awareness of people and society about the economical and efficient use of energy, contributing to environmental protection and climate change response, making electricity saving a habit anytime, anywhere in Vietnam.

In recent times, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has implemented many propaganda activities to raise public awareness of climate change and save energy for sustainable development. The most prominent of which is the Earth Hour response activities that have been held for the past 15 years and have become an annual event, with the participation of authorities and communities across the country.
