Seeking opinions on a special ward outside the dike in Hanoi
Hanoi - Hong Ha ward is expected to be formed from the merger of all or part of the area from many wards outside the dike in 5 districts.
On April 19, the Hanoi People's Committee sent a document to the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities on the plan to reorganize the city's commune-level administrative units to collect public opinions and organize People's Council meetings at all levels.
The content of the document shows that the Hong Ha grassroots administrative unit will be formed from the merger of all or part of the natural area and population from many wards outside the dike in the area of 5 districts: Tay Ho, Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh, Long Bien, Hai Ba Trung.
According to this plan, the Hong Ha administrative unit will include the entire natural area and population of Chuong Duong and Phuc Tan wards (Hoan Kiem district); most of the natural area and population of Nhat Tan, Tu Lien, Yen Phu wards (Tay Ho district); most of the natural area and population of Bach Dang and Thanh Luong wards (Hai Ba Trung district); part of the natural area and population of Phu Thuong and Quang An wards (Tay Ho district); part of the natural area and population of Ngoc Thuy and Bo De wards (Long Bien district).
Hanoi currently has 30 district-level administrative units (12 districts, 17 districts, one town) and 526 commune-level administrative units (160 wards, 345 communes and 21 towns).
According to the plan to reorganize the city's commune-level administrative units, 526 communes, wards and towns will be reorganized into 126 new grassroots administrative units. Of the 126 new grassroots administrative units, there are 47 ward administrative units and 79 commune administrative units.
According to the plan, by April 21 at the latest, the People's Committees at the commune level must complete the collection of public opinions. The People's Committee at the district level synthesizes the opinions of local people and approves the policy of implementing the plan to reorganize commune-level administrative units to synthesize the results and report to the City People's Committee before April 26.
