Kom Tum tightens mineral trading and exploitation activities
Kon Tum - Construction units and contractors who declare false prices of materials and minerals for profit will be inspected and strictly handled according to regulations.
On April 13, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Kon Tum province said that the whole province currently has 57 valid mineral exploitation licenses.
Including 39 sand mining licenses with a total reserve of about 1.4 million m3, annual exploitation capacity of 264 thousand m3; 13 stone mining licenses with a total reserve of 4.8 million m3, capacity of 463 thousand m3/year; and 3 land filling exploitation licenses with a total reserve of 4 million m3, capacity of 1 million m3/year.
The inspection results show that most of the licensed organizations and individuals have complied with the design scale, basically meeting the needs of common construction materials in the area.
However, in the face of constant fluctuations in construction material prices, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Sam requested departments, branches and People's Committees of districts and cities to strengthen inspection and supervision of mineral exploitation activities.
Departments, branches and People's Committees of districts and cities need to strictly control prices and the supply of materials for construction of works and projects in the province.
The Provincial People's Committee also directed strict handling of cases of investors and construction contractors who are behind schedule and show signs of false estimate prices.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to speed up legal procedures and soon put auctioned mineral mines into exploitation according to the design, to ensure the supply of construction materials and fill soil for the projects.
Kon Tum province requires proactive proposals to cancel auction results and terminate investment in cases with signs of speculation, slow implementation of procedures, failure to provide materials as committed or intentional price inflation.
The province also emphasized the strict handling of organizations and individuals who do not fulfill their obligation to close mines in accordance with the provisions of law.
