Khanh Hoa aims for an average life expectancy of 75.5 years
Khanh Hoa strives to increase the average height of children and adolescents aged 1-18 by at least 1.5cm; average life expectancy reaches 75.5 years old.
On January 4, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province announced that it had just had a plan to implement a breakthrough solution to strengthen protection, care and improve people's health.
The plan also concretizes the Action Program No. 07-CTr/TU dated November 24, 2025 of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, creating a basis for synchronously implementing tasks and solutions in the health sector in the province.
The general goal of the Plan is to ensure that all people in the province are managed, have quality health care, live in a safe environment, ensure health security; develop harmoniously both physically and mentally.
Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of life and human resources, serving the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
According to the Plan, Khanh Hoa province focuses on proactively preventing diseases, improving people's health, and gradually reducing the burden of medical costs through expanding health insurance coverage and innovating health management methods.
By 2030, Khanh Hoa strives to increase the average height of children and adolescents from 1 to 18 years old by at least 1.5cm; average life expectancy reaches 75.5 years, of which the number of years of healthy living is at least 68 years.
The vaccination rate for vaccines in the Essential Immunization Program is maintained at over 95%.
From 2026, people in the province will have regular health check-ups or free screening at least once a year, and have an electronic health book to manage their health according to their life cycle.
Notably, the province aims to exempt people from hospital fees at a basic level within the scope of health insurance benefits according to the roadmap by 2030.
The health insurance coverage rate will reach over 96% of the population by 2026, moving towards universal health insurance coverage by 2030.
Many people hope that the implementation of the Plan is expected to create a strong shift in the work of protecting, caring for and improving people's health, contributing to ensuring social security and sustainable development of Khanh Hoa province in the coming period.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Luong (62 years old, residing in Nha Trang ward) said that people have high expectations for the specific goals set by the province, especially the management of public health and free periodic health check-ups.
The average life expectancy of 75.5 years is not just a number, but reflects the quality of life of the people.
If they have an annual health check-up and an electronic health book to monitor underlying diseases, the elderly like us will be more assured, detecting the disease early and receiving timely treatment, Ms. Luong shared.
According to her, when the State focuses on disease prevention, improving physical fitness and prolonging the number of years of healthy living, people will not only live longer but also live well, live quality lives, reducing the burden on families and society.
