Gia Lai - After a long wait, two wind power projects worth thousands of billions of VND in Gia Lai have been granted power licenses to sell electricity to the market.

On January 1, a representative of the Mountainous Development and Central Highlands Processing Wind Power Plant (headquartered at 18 Hung Vuong, Dien Hong Ward, Gia Lai Province) confirmed that the two wind power projects have been officially put into commercial operation (COD) since December 22, 2025.

After a long time of overcoming shortcomings and limitations due to overlapping planning, construction and conversion of land use purposes, the two projects have met the conditions to operate and have been licensed for electricity to buy and sell electricity to the market.

The Electricity Trading Company (EPTC), under the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), has issued a document agreeing on the COD time of both plants starting from 08:00 on December 22, 2025.

According to the granted license, the Mountainous Development Wind Power Plant (managed by Chu Prong Gia Lai Wind Power Joint Stock Company) has a capacity of 49.5 MW (15 turbines, each turbine is 3.3 MW), with a total investment of 1,916 billion VND, built in Bau Can, Ia tar and Gao communes.

The plant is connected to the national power system via a 110 kV line to Dien Hong - Chu Se Transformer Station. The license is valid until November 23, 2045.

The Central Highlands Processing Wind Power Plant (managed by Chu Prong Gia Lai Wind Energy Joint Stock Company) has a capacity of 49.5 MW (15 ×bines 3.3 MW), with a total investment of 1,917 billion VND, built in Bau Can commune.

This plant will be connected to the transformer station of the Mountainous Development Wind Power Plant. The license is valid until October 20, 2045. The total investment capital of these two wind power plants is up to nearly 4,000 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung - Chairman of Bau Can Commune People's Committee said that the project, when put into commercial operation, will contribute to increasing budget revenue, developing the socio-economy, creating a "wind power field" landscape for tourism, creating jobs and improving social security work.
