Gia Lai is among the top in the country in serving people and businesses

According to the People's Committee of Gia Lai province, implementing the Government's direction on reforming administrative procedures and improving the business environment, the province has implemented many breakthrough and synchronous solutions throughout the system.

In the context of operating a two-level local government model, Gia Lai affirms its determination to build a serving administration, creating a favorable, transparent and stable long-term investment environment for businesses.

The highlight is that the province has reviewed 100% of administrative procedures, cutting more than 55% of processing time, exceeding the target assigned by the Government by over 25% and is one of the outstanding results nationwide.

The time for handling procedures related to investment - construction - environment - fire prevention and fighting is greatly shortened. Specifically, all procedures for project implementation outside economic zones and industrial parks will be reduced from 242 days to 60 days; the time for issuing business registration certificates will be reduced from 3 days to 3 hours.

The province also promotes decentralization, delegation, and empowerment associated with responsibility; promulgates policies on fee exemption and reduction to encourage people and businesses to use online public services; restructures the land-tax connection process, significantly reduces the number of trips; simplifies procedures based on the database to move towards digital administration.

Improving the quality of the team of commune-level cadres is also identified as an important foundation for the two-level apparatus to operate effectively. Thanks to that, Gia Lai is in the leading group in the country in terms of the index for serving people and businesses.

Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang affirmed that administrative reform is identified as a strategic breakthrough, a prerequisite to attract investment and improve the province's competitiveness. He requested each cadre and civil servant to penetrate the idea of taking people and businesses as the center of service.

According to Mr. Giang, the province is implementing an administrative procedure model " regardless of administrative boundaries", meaning 100% of procedures can be carried out in any locality in the province through online public services. This model helps to minimize travel time and compliance costs for people and businesses.

Currently, Gia Lai provides 1,088 full-process online public services and 1,122 partial public services. The rate of online application submission reached 95.2%, of which 97.6% of applications were processed on time. The index for serving people and businesses reached 96.63 points, ranking 2nd out of 34 provinces and cities, in the national excellence group.
