Hanoi is about to build 3 more sections of Ring Road 2.5, with an investment capital of VND 8,402 billion

The Hanoi People's Committee has just sent a report to the Hanoi People's Council on implementing the project under the Emergency Line to reduce traffic congestion, organize traffic to serve important national events, including the Ring Road 2.5 project.

According to the Hanoi People's Committee, Ring Road 2.5 starts from the Ciputra New Urban Area, ending at the intersection with Ring Road 3 (near Thanh Tri Bridge) with a total length of about 19.64km, planned width of 40-50m.

The Ring Road 2.5 has been put into use at 5/13 sections with a length of 11.28km. Currently implementing the 5/13 project with a length of 6.1km.

The remaining sections have not been studied for investment (not yet approved for investment policy) including 3/13 sections with a length of 2.26km including the following sections: Dich Vong - Duong Dinh Nghe New Urban Area; Vu Pham Ham - Tran Duy Hung; Nguy Nhu Kon Tum - Nguyen Trai.

According to the Hanoi People's Committee, the Ring Road 2.5 plays an important role in the Hanoi capital's transportation system, contributing to the decentralization of vehicle traffic volume, reducing pressure on main routes such as Ring Road 2 and Ring Road 3.

This route not only promotes the socio-economy but is also a key solution to solve the city's traffic problem.

To promote the effectiveness of the route's exploitation, allocate traffic volume along the beltway, reduce traffic congestion on the axes: Giai Phong, Nguyen Trai, Le Van Luong, Ring Road 2, Ring Road 3, the Hanoi People's Committee believes that the investment in the completion of the remaining sections of Ring Road 2.5 is very urgent at this stage.

According to the Hanoi People's Committee, the implementation of the Ring Road 2.5 Construction Investment Project for the sections: Dich Vong - Duong Dinh Nghe New Urban Area; Vu Pham Ham - Tran Duy Hung and the Nguy Nhu Kon Tum - Nguyen Trai section according to the provisions of the Law on Public Investment on Emergency Public Investment Projects and the provisions of the law on the construction of emergency works is necessary to shorten the progress, and can meet the completion schedule in 2026 of the City Party Committee in Notice No. 117-KL/TU dated December 13, 2025.

The project is divided into 3 sections:

- The Dich Vong - Duong Dinh Nghe New Urban Area section is about 0.71km long, B=50m ( starting point at Dich Vong New Urban Area, ending point at Duong Dinh Nghe Street);

- Vu Pham Ham - Tran Duy Hung section is about 0.6km long, B=40m ( starting point at the intersection of Mac Thai Tong and Vu Pham Ham streets, ending point at the intersection of Tran Duy Hung and Hoang Dao Thuy streets);

- The Nguyen Nhu Kon Tum - Nguyen Trai section is about 0.95km long, B=40m (the starting point is at the intersection between Hoang Dao Thuy Street and Nguy Nhu Kon Tum Street, the end point is at Nguyen Trai Street).

The project is divided into 4 components, including 3 component projects of compensation, support, technical infrastructure works (investors are Cau Giay, Yen Hoa and Thanh Xuan wards); 1 construction investment project (investor is the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board).

The project implementation cost is expected to be about VND 8,402 billion, of which the construction cost is VND 488 billion, the rest is site clearance. The capital is implemented from the city budget.

The project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026, contributing to the completion of the transport network, promoting investment attraction, contributing to creating a new look for the urban area along the route in particular and for the whole city in general, contributing to the socio-economic development of the capital in the modernization of the country.
