Kon Tum tourism breaks out, aiming for 3 million visitors
Kon Tum - Thanks to tourism development, Kon Tum has achieved a revenue of thousands of billions of VND and created jobs for more than 1,900 workers.
On May 3, the People's Committee of Kon Tum province said that functional sectors are actively implementing the Project on diverse development of tourism types and products until 2025, with a vision to 2030.
In particular, the province focuses on developing typical types of tourism such as eco-tourism, resorts, extreme sports, spirituality, community tourism and agricultural tourism associated with indigenous culture.
Kon Tum province has gradually formed and effectively exploited four key tourism spaces including: Kon Tum city and satellite cities; Bo Y international border gate economic zone; Mang Den town center and Ngoc Linh mountain area (Tu Mo Rong district, Dak Glei).
These are important connection centers, contributing to tourism development between the plains, plateau and border areas. In addition, there is also market expansion and competitiveness improvement.
Up to now, the whole province has 219 tourist accommodation establishments, the quality of services is constantly improving. Initially, tourist accommodation facilities have met the increasingly high demand for accommodation and resorts of tourists.
Along with that, the team of tour guides and human resources in the tourism industry have been trained and fostered professionally. Thereby, contributing to building a professional and friendly tourism environment.
After more than 3 years of implementing Resolution No. 12-NQ/TU, Kon Tum tourism industry has achieved many positive results. The province has welcomed nearly 5 million visitors, tourism revenue reached about 1,576 billion VND, creating jobs for nearly 1,900 workers.
In 2025, the province aims to attract 3 million tourists. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, Kon Tum welcomed about 948,700 visitors, reaching 32% of the annual plan.
Notably, the number of international visitors increased 2.4 times compared to the same period last year (about 4,900), contributing positively to the socio-economic development of the province.
During the April 30 - May 1 holiday, Kon Tum province has prepared carefully and thoughtfully. Thanks to that, the number of visitors to visit and relax in the locality has increased.
