Tra Vinh is expected to be named after 1 ward after the merger
Tra Vinh - The name Tra Vinh is expected to be given to a ward on the basis of merging wards 1, 3 and 9.
On April 16, Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee Le Van Han said that the province is organizing a public consultation on the Project on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units (ADUs) in the province.
According to the Project, before the arrangement, Tra Vinh province had 104 commune-level administrative units (including: 9 wards, 10 towns and 85 communes). After the arrangement, Tra Vinh province still has 41 commune-level administrative units (including 6 wards and 35 communes), reducing 63 commune-level administrative units, reaching a rate of 60.58% compared to the number of commune-level administrative units before the arrangement.
Tra Vinh City after the merger has 4 wards, of which Tra Vinh ward will be established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of commune-level administrative units including: Ward 1, Ward 3 and Ward 9 of Tra Vinh city.
Cang Long district, Cau Ngang district each have 5 newly established communes. Cau Ke district, Tieu Can district each has 4 newly established communes. Tra Cu district has 6 newly established communes.
Duyen Hai district established 3 new communes, keeping the 2 communes of Dong Hai and Long Vinh. Duyen Hai Town alone established 2 new wards and 1 commune.
Chau Thanh district established 3 new communes, Hoa Minh commune and Long Hoa commune remained unmerged.
"All commune-level administrative units of Tra Vinh province after the reorganization must meet the conditions, standards, and specific factors of the administrative unit formed after the reorganization according to regulations," added the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province.
