From June 10, heavy rain in the Northwest, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will gradually decrease.

The midland and delta areas of the Northern region, Hai Phong city from early morning to noon on June 9, are forecast to have moderate rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 10 - 30mm, locally heavy rain over 50mm.

The meteorological agency warns of the risk of heavy rain with rainfall over 80mm within 3 hours.

In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

The area from Ha Tinh to Quang Tri, the Central Highlands and the South in the afternoon and evening of June 9, is forecast to have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 10-30mm, locally heavy rain over 70mm.

Warning level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, and hail is level 1.

Heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban and industrial areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes.
