Dong Thap receives 6 Red-crowned Cranes at Tram Chim National Park

Dong Thap - On the morning of April 20, the Provincial People's Committee organized a program to receive Red-crowned Cranes at Tram Chim National Park, Tam Nong District.

Participating were Central Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan; Central Party Committee member, Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee Le Quoc Phong.

Dong Thap province officially received the first 6 Red-crowned Cranes (about 7 months old) from the Kingdom of Thailand on April 10, 2025.

The Red-crowned Cranes were raised at Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo and transported to Vietnam by air, have completed quarantine according to regulations on wildlife quarantine at Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and are eligible to be transported to Tram Chim National Park for further care and conservation.

Receiving the Red-crowned Cranes also conveys a strong message about the responsibility of the community for nature conservation, ecosystems and environmental protection.

According to the Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, the event of the first Cranes entering Tram Chim National Park has opened a direction for Dong Thap to continue implementing the committed and agreed goals in the Project; the opportunity to implement a research program on Long-term, scientific and thorough Red-crowned Cranes from the stages of care, breeding, conservation, release and even the formation of an ecosystem to stabilize the Red-crowned Cranes.
