Speeding up the construction progress of the North-South expressway through Quang Binh

The Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board (Ministry of Transport) is the investor of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway Component Project.

On February 24, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Chu Van Long - Deputy Head of Project Management Department 4, Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that up to now, Quang Binh province has handed over the entire 33.017 km of site, reaching 100% of the required progress. However, some additional service routes are still in the process of completing approval documents.

In addition, the relocation of technical infrastructure also has some problems. In Quang Binh, there is still a telecommunications infrastructure location at Km693+425 and some power lines after meters have not been relocated.

Mr. Long said that currently, the construction contractors have organized 67 construction teams, including 29 bridge construction teams, 20 road construction teams, 14 underpass construction teams and box culverts, and 4 round culverts.

The total construction force includes 1,468 officers, engineers, workers and about 641 pieces of equipment and machinery such as excavators, road rollers, bulldozers, cranes, cars, generators, etc.

The main volumes achieved are the roadbed, which is 94.67% complete; the road foundation, which is 89.25% complete.

The project on the route has been completed: culvert 222/240 at 92.5%; underpass: 41/42 at 98%...

However, the weather in Quang Binh in recent days has had rain, affecting some construction areas, especially road and asphalt concrete items.

Despite unfavorable weather, workers at the construction site are still working hard day and night to ensure progress. Worker Nguyen The Gian - working in the empty asphalt concrete project on the expressway section through Le Thuy district - shared: "We work 3 shifts a day from morning to night. At noon, take a break to eat, rest and then continue work. Everyone is trying to ensure the project's progress".

The North-South expressway construction project in the East phase 2021 - 2025, the section passing through Quang Binh province, will be implemented from 2022, including 3 component projects with a length of 126.43km through 6/8 districts, towns, cities and 35 communes, wards/151 communes, wards and towns. The project is expected to open to traffic on April 30, 2025.
