Passing Resolution confirming 500 elected people eligible as National Assembly deputies of the 16th term
The National Election Council said that 498/500 people elected as National Assembly deputies of the 16th term did not have complaints, denunciations, or reflections.
On the morning of April 6, at the First Session, the 16th National Assembly, the National Election Council reported on the results of confirming the status of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Delegate Affairs Committee of the XV term - said that the election of National Assembly deputies of the XVI term was conducted according to the principles of universal, equal, direct and secret ballot; ensuring democratic requirements and in accordance with the law.
The consultation, selection, and introduction of candidates for the 16th National Assembly are organized publicly, democratically, and in accordance with the law; the steps of making lists, announcing voter lists, and lists of candidates are carried out in accordance with the procedures and time according to the provisions of the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies.
Voters nationwide elected enough 500 National Assembly deputies of the 16th term at 182 electoral units in accordance with the principle of determining the winner as stipulated in Article 78 of the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies.
By March 25, 2026, the receipt, consideration, and settlement of complaints and denunciations about the elected deputies of the 16th National Assembly will be as follows:
- There are 498 people who have no complaints, denunciations, or reflections.
- There are 2 National Assembly deputies elected who have complaints. Competent agencies have reviewed complaints in accordance with the law and concluded that complaints are not eligible for resolution according to the order and procedures for resolving complaints and denunciations.
However, with a spirit of caution and listening, to help the National Election Council consider and decide to confirm the status of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term in a strict and lawful manner, the Sub-committee on Legal Documents and Complaint and Denunciation Resolution assisting the National Election Council has requested competent agencies to verify and clarify the information in the reflected petitions and affirm that the information stated in the petitions is unfounded.
The Sub-committee on Legal Documents and Complaint and Denunciation Resolution and the Sub-committee on Personnel agreed to report to the National Election Council on the fact that 2 people with complaints both ensured standards and were qualified as National Assembly deputies of the 16th term.
After seeking written opinions and voting by ballot, with high consensus, all members of the National Election Council unanimously voted to pass the Resolution confirming 500 elected people as full representatives of the 16th National Assembly.
On March 27, 2026, the National Election Council issued Resolution No. 238/NQ-HDBCQG on confirming sufficient qualifications for National Assembly deputies of the 16th term.
