Dong Thap Trade Union spends more than 91 billion VND to care for workers in the first quarter

Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation said that in the first quarter of 2026, trade union levels in the province have implemented many practical activities to care for union members, workers, and laborers (TUs, workers, and laborers), with a total budget of over 91 billion VND, supporting 315,513 turns of people. In total resources, funding from trade union finance is more than 58 billion VND; socialization and support from Party committees, authorities, and professional departments is more than 33 billion VND.

Since then, Trade Union levels have organized visits and gifts for 211,149 union members, workers, and laborers with an amount of 75.735 billion VND; supported 186 bus tickets to help workers return to their hometowns for Tet; awarded 10 "Trade Union Homes" worth 600 million VND; organized 36 "Trade Union Year-end Meals" with a total value of 8.493 billion VND and many other care activities worth 6.5 billion VND.

At the provincial level, many outstanding programs have been implemented such as awarding more than 11,600 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances; supporting 6,100 shopping vouchers at the "Online Trade Union Tet Market" program; organizing 4 "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" programs at industrial parks, combined with awarding 2,000 gifts and mobilizing businesses to support more than 31 billion VND.

Activities to visit businesses, give gifts to workers working on New Year's Eve, care for workers' boarding houses, "Border Spring - Loving Tet" program... are also organized, creating positive spillover effects.

At the grassroots level, affiliated Trade Unions organized many exciting activities such as cultural and sports exchanges, decoration and culinary contests, and contests on the beauty of workers... attracting a large number of union members to participate. 324 grassroots Trade Unions in the business sector organized the "Tet reunion" program associated with year-end parties, Trade Union meals, lucky draws and gifts for workers in difficult circumstances, contributing to creating a warm and united atmosphere in the business.

According to Mr. Hoang Khac Tinh - Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation, the above results were achieved thanks to the attention and direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee. On that basis, the Provincial Labor Federation has issued many plans and documents directing Trade Union levels to proactively grasp the employment and living situation; strengthen supervision of Tet salary and bonus payments; and coordinate with employers to organize appropriate and effective care activities.

These practical activities not only contribute to improving the material and spiritual life of workers but also affirm the role of the Vietnam Trade Union organization in accompanying and sharing with union members, workers, and laborers.
