General Phan Van Giang works with the Standing Committee of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee

At the meeting, leaders of Lang Son province reported the outstanding results achieved in 2024 and the first quarter of 2025.

Accordingly, the GRDP growth rate of the whole province reached 8.27%, ranking 23rd out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide; ranked 7th out of 14 provinces in the midland and mountainous areas of the North. Total import-export turnover through the area increased by 24%, industrial production increased by 5.22%, budget revenue increased by 24.8%.

The fields of culture, education, and health continue to have many positive changes. Many policies to support the poor have been implemented synchronously such as housing support, health insurance cards, electricity support, vocational training, job creation, etc.

The work of building new rural areas, sustainable poverty reduction, and ensuring social security has been effectively implemented.

Foreign defense and people's diplomacy activities have been enhanced, especially in the cooperative relationship with Guangxi province (China), contributing to building a peaceful, stable and sustainable border area.

Appreciating the efforts and comprehensive results of the province, General Phan Van Giang emphasized that Lang Son has made important strides in socio-economic development associated with strengthening national defense and security.

The Minister suggested that the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee continue to pay attention to Party building, consolidating a strong political system, ensuring internal solidarity and unity, especially in strategic areas such as remote areas, border areas and border areas.

The province needs to implement ethnic and religious policies well, strengthen the great national unity bloc, and build a solid "people's heart posture". At the same time, continue to effectively implement Resolution 11 of the Politburo on the development of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Areas, accelerate the implementation of the Lang Son Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

The Minister also noted that the "fence" province needs to promote the strength of the border gate economy, promote restructuring of the agricultural sector in conjunction with building new rural areas, ensure national defense and security, and improve people's lives.

General Phan Van Giang praised the close coordination between the Provincial Party Committee, government and people of Lang Son with military units in preparation for the 9th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange.

The program will take place from April 16 to 17 in Lang Son (Vietnam) and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China).

The Minister of National Defense also hopes that Lang Son will continue to improve the quality of national defense education, effectively implement state management of national defense, build a strong provincial armed forces force, contribute to maintaining political stability, national defense, security and promote socio-economic development in the area.
