Da Nang accelerates the development of social housing
Da Nang is promoting the development of social housing to meet the housing needs of low-income people, workers and laborers in industrial parks.
According to the Da Nang Department of Construction, in April 2026 alone, the City People's Committee approved the investment policy for many new projects. Prominent is the social housing project in Hoa Xuan ward with a scale of 1,326 apartments, total capital of more than 2,000 billion VND. Previously, two projects in the Nui Thanh commune area were also approved with a total of more than 1,290 apartments.
According to the Government's plan to implement the Project "Investing in building at least 1 million social housing apartments", in the 2026-2030 period, Da Nang is assigned a target of more than 26,000 apartments. The city has currently identified 36 projects with about 31,000 apartments, exceeding the assigned target.
In 2025, Da Nang completed 5 projects with 2,907 apartments, reaching 108% of the Government's assigned plan. In 2026, the scale of implementation continues to expand with 20 projects being implemented, providing about 18,265 apartments. Of which, 13 projects have been approved for investment policy, and 7 projects are under construction.
In parallel with that, the city has prepared a land fund of about 134ha in 46 land plots, meeting the conditions to develop about 42,700 social housing apartments in the period 2025-2030.
Many projects are entering the sales phase such as projects B4-1, B4-2 in Hoa Hiep 4 resettlement area with 787 apartments, or the social housing project south of Cam Le bridge with apartment areas from 36-77m2.
In addition to housing for low-income people, Da Nang also focuses on developing worker housing. The city is implementing a trade union housing project of about 735 apartments in the Hai Van area and renovating worker housing in Hoa Cam Industrial Park into social housing for rent.
However, many difficulties still exist, such as high selling prices, complicated application procedures, and difficulty for workers to access preferential loans. Workers and laborers also proposed that the city simplify the appraisal process, support interest rates, and have a mechanism to allocate apartments suitable for each industry group to increase access to social housing.
