Power load capacity in Quang Ninh sets new record

According to Quang Ninh Power Company, the prolonged intense heat wave caused electricity demand to increase sharply, not only in Quang Ninh. On May 25, Quang Ninh's electricity load set a new record for 2026 and exceeded the operating peak of 2025.

Load capacity on May 25 reached 1,252.1MW, an increase of 5.6% compared to the previous highest load capacity of 2025 of 1,186MW.

Hot weather forecast continues to last until May 27-28.

In recent days, severe heat has covered the whole province with peak temperatures reaching 35°C - 36°C. This has pushed up the demand for cooling equipment, causing the power grid load of the whole province to grow at a very high level. Quang Ninh Power Company currently strictly maintains a 24/7 command and operation duty regime, ensuring that shock teams and shift staff are always ready to depart to handle incidents immediately upon order, regardless of hot weather or sudden thunderstorms.

All spare materials, communication systems and specialized means of transport have been reviewed and fully gathered at key locations to minimize the time to fix incidents if any occur.
