Can Tho still has 32 communes and wards, named Ninh Kieu and Cai Rang wards

On the afternoon of April 14, the Department of Home Affairs of Can Tho City officially informed about the arrangement and merger of commune-level administrative units in the city.

Can Tho City reorganizes and merges 80 commune-level administrative units with 32 units, including 16 wards and 16 communes.

In which, Ninh Kieu district includes: Ninh Kieu ward (merged from Tan An, Thoi Binh, Xuan Khanh wards); Cai Khe ward (merged from An Hoa ward, part of Bui Huu Nghia ward); Tan An ward (merged from Hung Loi ward, An Khanh); An Binh ward (merged from An Binh ward, My Khanh commune).

Binh Thuy District includes: Binh Thuy Ward (merged from Binh Thuy Ward, An Thoi, Bui Huu Nghia); Long Tuyen Ward (merged from Long Tuyen Ward, Long Hoa); Thoi An Dong Ward (merged from Tra An Ward, Thoi An Dong, Tra Noc).

Cai Rang district includes: Cai Rang ward (merged from Le Binh, Ba Lang, Hung Thanh, Thuong Thanh wards); Hung Phu ward (merged from Phu Thu, Tan Phu, Hung Phu wards).

O Mon district includes: Thoi Long ward (merged from Thoi Long, Long Hung, Tan Hung wards); Phuoc Thoi ward was merged from Phuoc Thoi, Truong Lac wards); O Mon ward (merged from Thoi An, Chau Van Liem, Thoi Hoa wards, Thoi Thanh commune).

Thot Not District includes: Trung Nhut Ward (merged from Thanh Hoa Ward, Trung Nhut, Trung An Commune); Thot Not Ward (merged from Thot Not Ward, Thuan An, Thoi Thuan); Thuan Hung Ward (merged from Trung Kien Ward, Thuan Hung); Tan Loc Ward (maintained).

Phong Dien district includes: Nhon Ai commune (merged from Nhon Nghia and Nhon Ai communes); Phong Dien commune merged from Phong Dien town, Tan Thoi and Giai Xuan communes); Truong Long commune ( Maintained).

Co Do district includes: Thanh Phu commune (maintained); Thoi Hung commune (maintained); Co Do commune (merged from Co Do town, Thoi Dong commune, Thoi Xuan); Dong Hiep commune (merged from Dong Hiep, Dong Thang, Xuan Thang communes); Trung Hung commune (merged from Trung Hung, Trung Thanh communes).

Thoi Lai district includes: Thoi Lai commune (merged from Thoi Lai town, Thoi Tan commune, Truong Thang); Dong Thuan commune (merged from Dong Thuan commune, Dong Binh); Truong Xuan commune (merged from Truong Xuan commune, Truong Xuan A, Truong Xuan B); Dinh Mon commune (merged from Dinh Mon commune, Tan Thanh, Truong Thanh).

Vinh Thanh district includes: Vinh Thanh commune (merged from Vinh Thanh town, Thanh My commune, Thanh Loc); Thanh Quoi commune (merged from Thanh An, Thanh Quoi, Thanh Tien communes); Vinh Trinh commune (merged from Vinh Trinh commune, Vinh Binh); Thanh An commune (merged from Thanh An town, Thanh Thang commune, Thanh Loi)

The political - administrative centers of the new administrative units will be located at the headquarters of the People's Committee or District Party Committee, District Party Committee according to the announcement.
