Border Guards hold talks on border management with China
Representatives of 12 Border Guard Stations of Cao Bang and Ha Giang provinces have just held talks with the Border Management Team of Baise, Guangxi (China).
On April 15, in Cao Bang City, representatives of 12 Border Guard Stations of Cao Bang and Ha Giang provinces (Vietnam) held first quarter talks with the Bach Sac Border Management Team, Guangxi province (China).
In a friendly atmosphere, the two sides highly appreciated the coordination results in the first quarter. The two sides maintained effective communication with 188 exchanges via letters and phone; 42 face-to-face meetings and one regular meeting. The authorities of the two countries regularly share information related to the situation of borders, border gates and cross-border crimes.
The Vietnamese side has cracked down on many cases, prosecuted 1 case of organizing illegal exit; arrested 9 cases/45 people illegally entering and exiting the country; seized 5,725kg of tobacco materials.
The two sides coordinated to handle 41 cases/301 citizens of violations, of which China returned 270 Vietnamese citizens and Vietnam returned 31 Chinese citizens.
At the meeting, the sides agreed to increase information sharing, joint patrols, strict control of hot spots, and coordinate in handling arising incidents.
At the same time, promote legal dissemination to residents in border areas, contributing to ensuring security, stability and development of the border economy.
