Bac Ninh holds a press conference on the VND23,600 billion thermal power project with many violations
Bac Ninh - The locality will hold a press conference on the An Khanh - Bac Giang thermal power plant project, expected before January 24, 2026.
According to the investigation of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has just issued an official dispatch on organizing a press conference on the An Khanh - Bac Giang thermal power plant project.
Accordingly, to inform the press about the inspection conclusion of the Government Inspectorate for the An Khanh - Bac Giang thermal power plant project, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province Pham Van Thinh gave the following opinion:
Assign the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with An Khanh - Bac Giang Thermal Power Joint Stock Company, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant agencies and units to organize a press conference on the inspection conclusion of the Government Inspectorate for the An Khanh - Bac Giang thermal power plant project; to be completed before January 24, 2025.
It is known that the An Khanh - Bac Giang thermal power plant project is located in Vu Xa commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province (now Cam Ly commune, Bac Ninh province), a group A project, a level I industrial project.
The project is invested by An Khanh - Bac Giang Thermal Power Joint Stock Company.
The project was approved with a total investment of more than VND 23,601 billion, invested in the form of IPP (independent power project, not using state budget capital, mainly using private capital) using equity capital, commercial loans and other mobilized sources.
The project implementation period (completement and commercial power generation) is in 2023 and will be extended to December 2025 according to the decisions of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province (old).
Recently, the Government Inspectorate issued inspection conclusions for difficult and problematic projects under the management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. In particular, the conclusion clearly pointed out many violations at the An Khanh - Bac Giang Thermal Power Plant project.
The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has also issued an official dispatch on considering the proposal to handle administrative violations against An Khanh - Bac Giang Thermal Power Joint Stock Company, the investor of the above project.
