Bac Ninh - The Provincial People's Committee has just issued an official dispatch on reporting the number of 100-year-old elderly people in the province in 2026.
The official dispatch sent to the Office of the President stated that, based on relevant legal regulations on management and use of primary health care funds for the elderly at their place of residence; congratulations, longevity, credit incentives and commendation and rewards for the elderly; According to the proposal of the Department of Health on December 25, 2025, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province reported a list of 100-year-old elderly people in Bac Ninh province to print a life insurance certificate in 2026.
According to the updated list as of December 29, 2025, there are 235 people over 100 years old in Bac Ninh province.
According to the Law on the Elderly, people aged 100 are congratulated and given gifts by the President; people aged 90 are congratulated and given gifts by the Chairman of the People's Committee of provinces and centrally run cities.
In addition, the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns coordinate with local Association of the Elderly and the families of the elderly to celebrate the life of the elderly aged 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95 and 100 years old and above.
The anniversary of longevity and longevity for the elderly can be held on the occasion of Vietnam elderly people's Day (June every year); International Day of Older Persons (October 1 every year); Lunar New Year or birthdays of the elderly.
Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 3 of Circular 96/2018/TT-BTC, the level of gifts for the elderly is as follows:
The 100-year-old elderly person was congratulated by the President and given gifts including 5 meters of silk fabric and 700,000 VND in cash.
The elderly who have reached the age of 90 were congratulated by the Chairman of the People's Committee of the province or centrally-run city and given gifts including gifts worth 150,000 VND and 500,000 VND in cash.
The above expenditure level is the minimum level. Based on the ability to balance local budgets and the actual situation, the People's Councils of provinces and centrally run cities can consider and decide on a spending level higher than the level prescribed in Circular 96/2018/TT-BTC.
At the same time, consider and decide according to authority on the level of gifts for the elderly aged 70, 75, 80, 85, 95 and over 100 years old based on the proposal of the Provincial People's Committee.
