Readers of Lao Dong Newspaper support many life experiences in Kien Giang
Kien Giang - The difficult lives in remote districts expressed their joy and emotion when receiving support from Readers of Lao Dong Newspaper.
Recently, representatives of the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund and the Red Cross Society of Kien Giang province visited and presented donations from readers of Lao Dong Newspaper to the disadvantaged in An Bien and U Minh Thuong districts. This is not only material support but also brings great joy to those in difficult circumstances on the days before Tet.
Visiting the family of Ms. Thi Ly (49 years old) in Tay Son 3 Hamlet, Dong Yen Commune, An Bien District is a character in the article "Sick man buys scrap metal to raise 3 grandchildren and a seriously ill daughter". Reporters from Lao Dong Newspaper presented 27,130,000 VND donated by readers to Ms. Ly's family.
Receiving this amount of money, Ms. Ly's family was extremely happy and sent sincere thanks to readers for their help. Ms. Ly shared: "Currently, we can't go buy scrap metal every day, we also save this support money to treat our daughter's illness. After Tet, we plan to buy fish fry to raise, earn more income to improve our lives".
As in the previous article, Ms. Pham Thi Giup (28 years old) - Ms. Ly's daughter has cerebral palsy and needs long-term treatment. With no money for treatment, Ms. Giup had to stay home and take herbal medicine and Western medicine according to the prescription; each week, she spends at least 500,000 VND on medicine even though she has health insurance.
Ms. Giup's husband left, leaving her and her 3 young children to rely on each other. Her husband did not come to visit and did not have any help, so her grandparents had to struggle to take care of their daughter and 3 grandchildren.
Mr. Pham Van Giang (47 years old, Ms. Pham Thi Giup's father) has many diseases: enlarged liver, enlarged spleen, diabetes, kidney stones, anemia, urinary tract infections... Despite his poor health, Mr. Giang is still the pillar of the family.
Every day, he tries to buy scrap metal to make a living. Every day when I buy a lot, I only earn more than 100,000 VND, but I have to spend to cut the cost to be enough to buy medicine for my daughter. Mr. Giang could not carry heavy loads or bulky objects by himself, so Ms. Ly had to help.
This year, my grandchild is old enough to enter kindergarten, and my family is not financially capable, so we have to leave him at home.

Also during this period, readers sent support of VND 3,040,000 to Ms. Nguyen Thi Bay (86 years old), residing in Xeo Duoc 1 Hamlet, Dong Yen Commune, An Bien District. Mrs. Bay is the character in the article "86-year-old mother tries hard to take care of her son with cancer". Mrs. Bay's family is a near-poor household, without any valuable land or assets. Previously, Mr. Cuong (her son) was still healthy, working for a living to take care of his old mother. But now, his health is exhausted due to nasopharyngeal cancer.
At this age, Mrs. Bay should have been given a home to her children and grandchildren, but all the family burden was on her shoulders.
In addition, Ms. Tran Thi Tu (born in 1950), residing in Hoa Binh Hamlet, Vinh Hoa Commune, U Minh Thuong District, continues to receive monthly support of 2.5 million VND from the Bonobos Volunteer Group. Mrs. Tu is the character in the article "74-year-old woman carries the burden of raising her children and grandchildren".
