500 gifts to poor patients to celebrate Tet at the hospital

On January 22, the Golden Heart Social Support Fund coordinated with the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor and benefactors to organize a Tet gift giving ceremony for poor patients being treated at Khanh Hoa General Hospital, Dermatology Hospital, Khanh Hoa Mental Health Hospital.

Mr. Phan Thanh Liem - Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor shared: " Contributing to Tet to help poor patients" is a program organized by the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund in coordination with Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor every year with the desire to share with patients in the days before Tet.

This is the 24th year the program has been organized with the support of businesses, philanthropists and readers to give 500 gifts with a total value of 180 million VND to disadvantaged patients.

At Khanh Hoa General Hospital, the program presented 250 gifts including: bird's water, cakes, candy, milk... In which, 100 patients were given gifts from the Department of Nephrology, Intensive Care - Anti-Poison. Here, each case has 50 patients on a periodic dialysis.

Ms. Nguyen Thi M., residing in Phuoc Dong commune, Nha Trang city for 12 years, takes a wheelchair to the hospital 3 times a week for dialysis. Each trip costs 100,000 VND, so all the patients here are having a hard time because their illness not only reduces their health but also their finances. "Tet is approaching, but for me, there is only one day to get dialysis, so this gift is very encouraging. Seeing gifts is seeing Tet" - Ms. M. shared.

Doctor Dang Duy Thanh - Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa General Hospital, said: As of today, December 23, there are still 1,300 patients being treated at the hospital. In recent years, the program " Contributing Tet to poor patients" has become familiar to hospitals in the last days of the year.

The meaningful Tet gifts were given to patients in difficult circumstances who had to stay in the hospital. And not only is it a warm spring gift sent to patients but also a great spiritual support for their hearts, along with the hospital's doctors and nurses to soothe the pain and actively treat patients so that patients can recover soon and return to celebrate Tet with their families.

The army is being treated at Khanh Hoa Dermatology Hospital, every time Tet comes, it is always a busy day looking forward to returning to his hometown.

There are nearly 40 patients staying at the hospital, many of whom do not have relatives. The hospital is not only a place for treatment but also a "common home" for them to welcome the new spring together.

The 100 gifts of the program were given to patients by benefactors who contributed to the Lunar New Year and their families, and are both a spiritual encouragement for each patient to celebrate the Lunar New Year of At Ty more excitedly.

The program also presented 140 gifts to patients being treated at Khanh Hoa Mental Health Hospital. Doctor Nguyen Anh Chuong - Deputy Director of the Hospital informed that up to now, the hospital is still treating 140 cases.

Most of the patients staying there during the Tet holiday have difficult family circumstances. The hospital hopes that relatives will welcome patients home for Tet, but each year there are still 120-130 cases staying at the hospital. "The hospital will divide the gifts for patients today into 9 days off for each patient, so that everyone can have a warm Tet holiday together at the hospital".

The program also gave 10 gifts to patients with serious illnesses in Nha Trang City. In particular, union member Nguyen Thi Thuy suffered from end-stage kidney failure and is currently renting a room.

Ms. Thuy's circumstances are very difficult, she is seriously ill, her husband drives a car to take care of his wife and children, and has mental Development problems. The program gave her a Tet gift and 1 million VND to support her and her family to celebrate the Lunar New Year with many hopes for a better New Year.
