Lao Dong Newspaper presents 208 gifts to children in flooded areas of Yen Bai

On January 16 and 17, 2025, Lao Dong Newspaper coordinated with the People's Committee of Yen Bai province and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Yen Bai province to present 208 gifts worth VND208 million (each gift worth VND1 million in cash) to children in ethnic minority areas in Lang Nhi commune, Tram Tau district and Che Tao commune, Mu Cang Chai district.

These are 2 disadvantaged communes in a poor district of Yen Bai province - heavily affected by the recent storm No. 3.

With the desire to care for poor children and students in difficult circumstances to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025 with full love, Lao Dong Newspaper previously launched the program "Warm Tet for children" on the occasion of the 4th Anniversary of the establishment of the Northwest Representative Office (January 1, 2021 - January 1, 2025).

Attending the 4th Anniversary of the establishment of the Northwest Representative Office on December 22, 2024, there were Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien - Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper, Director of the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund; Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper.

On the local side, there were the participation of Mr. Tran Huy Tuan - Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Chairman of the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen The Phuoc - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments, branches and districts of the provinces in the Northwest region.

The Northwest Office was assigned by the Editorial Board of Lao Dong Newspaper to carry out tasks in 13 provinces in the Northwest and Midlands of the Northern Mountainous Region, with Yen Bai being the first locality in Lao Dong Newspaper to have a permanent reporter and also the place to head the Representative Office.

After 4 years of establishment, the Northwest Office - Lao Dong Newspaper has had many outstanding achievements, made many quality press works, supported and highly appreciated by local authorities, colleagues and readers.

Mr. Tran Huy Tuan - Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated the activities of the Northwest Office - Lao Dong Newspaper, especially the recent storm and flood No. 3, reporters were always on duty at all hot spots to convey information, connect volunteer groups to promptly provide the best support to affected households.
