Thanh Hoa cares for nearly 1.2 million union members

Also attending the congress were Mr. Nguyen Hong Phong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Trinh Tuan Sinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Thanh Hoa province and 368 official delegates, representing more than 300,000 union members and workers in the province.

In the period of 2023-2025, the Thanh Hoa Labor Union will pay special attention to caring for the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers. Trade unions at all levels have mobilized resources to care for nearly 1.2 million union members and workers, with a total value of more than 850 billion VND; allowances for illness and work-related accidents for more than 25,000 union members, with an amount of more than 28 billion VND. The work of building the Trade Union organization has received synchronous and comprehensive attention. During the term, the whole province admitted 79,761 union members, reaching 132.9% of the target; established 362 grassroots unions and 49 grassroots unions; focused on training and fostering the team of union officials. From the practical emulation movement, the Trade Unions at all levels introduced 11,503 outstanding union members to the Party, of which 7,840 were admitted.

Speaking at the congress, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - praised, acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements that the Thanh Hoa Provincial Trade Union at all levels have achieved in the past term. Promoting the achieved results, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu suggested many important contents, including suggesting that the Thanh Hoa Provincial Trade Union at all levels continue to do a better job of representing, caring for, and protecting workers in a more timely, rich and effective manner; at the same time, studying the grouping of policy beneficiaries to focus on and key care. It is necessary to promote the development of union members, the establishment of grassroots unions, especially in the enterprise sector; innovation, application of science and technology and digital transformation. In particular, it is necessary to innovate thinking and methods of operation; identify the Trade Union as a profession, both scientific and artistic, thereby harmoniously handling the relationship between employees and employers, building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.

At the congress, 38 members of the Executive Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor were elected. At the first Executive Committee Conference, 11 members of the Standing Committee were elected; Mr. Luong Trong Thanh was elected as Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor for the 2025-2030 term.
