With the goal of helping employees confidently master technology, at LG Electronics Hai Phong Company Limited, the grassroots trade union coordinated to deploy solutions to "poplarize" quality management methods and high-tech skills, organizing up to 1,139 courses with the participation of more than 40,590 employees. Thereby, improving the capacity of the team of technicians in system programming.

The company's trade union also launched a "Technology autonomy" movement, encouraging employees to design and manufacture machinery themselves instead of proposing to purchase from outside contractors. From 2021 to present, the company's union members have successfully researched and manufactured 72 automation systems to help optimize human resources in heavy stages. At the same time, it helped the company save up to 660,000 USD (more than 16 billion VND).

At Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd., the trade union also coordinated with the company to organize a skills competition, attracting hundreds of workers to participate.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet - Chairman of the Trade Union of Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. - said that the contest is not only a playground to help employees improve their qualifications and skills but also a bond that connects employees with businesses. The company's trade union actively mobilizes employees to study and improve their skills; coordinate with businesses to develop reward policies, promote and appoint higher positions to people with good achievements. As a result, many workers have been trained to improve their skills, participate in training courses on 5S, Kaizen... contributing to improving productivity, quality and industrial labor style.

According to Ms. Hoang Thi Hue - Chairwoman of Thien Huong Ward Trade Union, last year, 6,399/10,666 workers received vocational training at the units, accounting for 60%. 1,813/10,666 workers are sent to vocational training institutions, accounting for 17%.

Striving for 65% of workers to have knowledge of information technology disseminated

The Hai Phong City Labor Federation is currently managing 2,840 grassroots unions, with a total of more than 616,000 union members. The city's working class is young, mostly between the ages of 18 and 35, dynamic, and easy to adapt to the industrial production environment. His education and skills have been increasingly improved, especially in the fields of mechanical engineering, electronics, and logistics. However, the rate of unskilled workers who have not received formal training is still large.

Therefore, the goal for the 2025-2030 period of the City Labor Federation is to improve the quality of vocational training, digital skills, and soft skills for workers. In particular, coordinating with vocational schools, training centers, and enterprises to organize the "Workers 4.0" class on digital transformation, automation, labor safety and production management. At the same time, develop the "Learning to change the future" program, encourage workers to learn a trade, study further, study online; include the "Citizen learning" criterion in annual emulation. The City Labor Federation strives to improve qualifications and professional skills by the end of the term, 70% of workers will study to improve their qualifications and skills, 75% of workers will participate in life skills courses; 65% of workers will be disseminated knowledge about information technology and digital technology; 50% will achieve the title of "Citizen of Learning". In 2026 alone, at least 65% of workers in enterprises will participate in vocational training to improve their qualifications and skills.

Trade unions at all levels also continue to promote and effectively promote key movements "Good workers, Creative workers" - taking productivity, quality, and focusing; striving to have 1,000 initiatives, 100 Creative Labor Certificates, 5,000 initiatives and 500 Creative Labor Certificates recognized each year.
