Building awareness of thrift and fighting waste following Uncle Ho's example in all activities of the Office of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor
Practicing thrift and combating waste is a long-term task that needs to be concretized by practical actions in each work task. Learning and following Uncle Ho does not stop at the slogan, but must start from small daily tasks.
I. President Ho Chi Minh's ideology on thrift and fighting waste
During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always paid special attention to practicing thrift and fighting waste. He considered it a high manifestation of revolutionary ethics and a measure of the qualities of cadres and party members. According to Uncle Ho:
"Safety is the top national policy... saving labor, time, money, materials; saving from the small to the big.
Uncle Ho's thrift Thought is associated with patriotism and love for the people, valuing each State currency and each drop of the people's sweat and labor. In the work "Practice thrift, fight embezzlement, waste, fight corruption" (1947), Mr. Ho clearly stated that:
"Embezzlement, waste, and bureaucracy are internal affairs. If we are not determined to destroy it, it will directly affect the prestige of the Party and the Government.
Not only in words, Uncle Ho's life and working style are a standard example of thrift: simple in living, modest in using materials, careful in spending publicly. He used to use two-sided writing paper, a short pencil, clothes, eating and drinking well and always instructed cadres to " save and love the country".
His ideology of thrift and fighting waste has profound meaning, is beyond the times and is especially suitable in the construction of the current socialist rule-of-law state - where every cadre and party member, especially in trade unions, needs to be a model leader.
II. Practical contact at the Office of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor
1. Saving in using budgets and public assets
The General Confederation Office always strictly complies with regulations in the use of the state budget, implementing publicity and transparency in spending. The purchase and use of equipment and office supplies is strictly controlled, ensuring the right purpose, avoiding waste. Public assets are exploited and used effectively, well preserved, and have a long life.
2. Saving time, improving work efficiency
The office actively promotes the application of information technology in operations, document management, work schedules, etc., helping to reduce time and speed up work processing. Meetings are organized concisely, going directly to the center, prioritizing online meetings to save costs and travel time. Streamlining internal processes is also a solution to increase work efficiency and save resources.
3. Building a sense of thrift in each cadre and party member
The office focuses on educating and raising awareness of cadres and party members about the spirit of thrift through Party cell activities, resolutions dissemination, and thematic learning. From small things such as turning off power when not in use, using stationery reasonably, to proposing initiatives, improving administrative work - all contribute to building a culture of thrift in the agency.
With the function of an advisory and organizing agency, serving the leadership and direction of the Presidium, the General Confederation Office always identifies practicing thrift and combating waste as a consistent task, contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of management and operation of the Trade Union organization.

Strictly implement regulations on purchasing and using equipment; store assets well; avoid spreading and not investing effectively.
Make the most of electronic documents, reduce paper printing
Meetings and conferences are organized concisely and effectively, integrating content, applying online forms to reduce travel costs, halls, and logistics.

Promote the application of information technology in document processing, management and operation through internal management systems.
Shorten administrative processes, improve working routes; ensure "right time, right work, right responsibility".
Office staff proactively arrange scientific work, avoid stagnation, avoid formal meetings.
3. Building self-awareness and a culture of thrift in each cadre and party member
The Office Party Cell identified this as one of the criteria for evaluating the year-end competition.
Regularly organize thematic activities associated with studying and following Uncle Ho.
Recognize collectives and individuals with initiatives to save costs, reduce costs, and optimize operations
The initial results in practicing thrift not only contribute to improving internal operational efficiency but also create the image of a responsible, dedicated, exemplary union cadre, meeting the requirements of innovation of the Vietnam Trade Union in the new period.
III. SOME PROPOSALS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Organize specialized classes and seminars on learning and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology on thrift and fighting waste.
2. Issue specific regulations on internal spending savings, linking implementation results with emulation and reward criteria.
3. Develop a set of criteria to evaluate work efficiency in a economical, modern and civilized direction.
