Quang Ninh miners follow Uncle Ho's example

Miningers - Soldiers is an emulation movement launched by the Quang Ninh Coal Party Committee under the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) in 2019. Through this movement, many typical and advanced mining examples have appeared.

5 times honored as "Miner - Soldier"

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dan (born in 1985, from Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province) has worked at Duong Huy Coal Company - TKV since 2005. In 2016, he was admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Currently, Mr. Dan is a 5/5 miners, production team leader and occupational safety and hygiene team leader at the 5 Coal Mining workshop.

During his working process, he has had 10 technical innovation initiatives, contributing to improving production efficiency and ensuring labor safety.

One of his outstanding initiatives is the solution "Using a safety pin to control the value of the object frame". Previously, control valves were often hit by rocks and soil during blasting. He has proposed using rubber pads as cover, helping to protect equipment and save repair costs. The initiative was later widely applied throughout the company.

Not only creative in techniques, Mr. Dan also actively guides new workers and trainees.

With 20 years of experience as a blacksmith, he has received many noble awards. In 2022, he was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister for his outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in the period of 2017-2021. He was honored with the title of "Miner - Soldier" 5 times.

Mr. Dan confided: "After each title and award I have achieved, I feel like I have to try harder. Although the OVN job is hard and arduous, it has given me a stable life, training discipline and team spirit".

Spreading the spirit of Uncle Ho learning in every job

The story of Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dan is a vivid testament to the image of "Miner - Soldier" in the new era - an emulation movement launched by the Quang Ninh Coal Party Committee in 2019.

After 5 years of implementation, the movement has spread strongly, becoming a province-wide and vibrant political activity in the entire Coal industry.

From only 32/42 units participating, up to now, 100% of affiliated units have actively responded, built, propagated and expanded the movement. Thereby, many typical examples have appeared, spreading the spirit of enthusiastic, creative work and constant dedication in each workshop, basement, and production line.

As of the beginning of 2025, 15,322 individuals have been honored with the title of "Miner - Soldier" at units under the Quang Ninh Coal Party Committee. They are outstanding workers, engineers, and employees - always pioneers in production, ready to receive and complete difficult tasks, contributing to overcoming bottlenecks, improving operational efficiency, and excellently completing the political tasks of each unit and the entire Group.

The "Miner - Soldier" movement is not only a continuation of the "discipline and unity" tradition, but also a great spiritual motivation to help cadres, party members and workers in the Coal industry constantly study Uncle Ho, practice ethics, practice skills, and contribute to the development of the industry and the country.

It is not only the strength of production, but also a "red address" to educate traditions, foster patriotism, foster the spirit of pride and responsibility of today's and future generations for the heroic mine area.
