Thanh Hoa - Provincial Trade Union strengthens communication, consultation and health care to protect the rights of female workers.

On January 12, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor said that in order to better protect the rights, health and quality of life of female workers in the province, the unit has strengthened communication, consultation and health care, and prevention of occupational diseases for female workers.

According to statistics up to December 2025, the whole province has 310,388 workers, civil servants, and laborers, of which 223,165 are female, accounting for more than 71%; a total of 294,227 union members, with 212,689 female union members, accounting for 72%, currently working at 850 grassroots unions.

In the context of the increasingly large proportion of female workers in enterprises, especially in the garment, footwear, seafood processing industries, fields with high labor intensity, the working environment has many potential risks affecting reproductive health and occupational health. Caring for and protecting the health of female workers is not only an urgent requirement for social security but also a key task of the Trade Union organization.

Determining communication as a fundamental and consistent solution, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor has directed all levels of the Trade Union to synchronously deploy communication, consultation on reproductive health, and family planning for female workers, in accordance with the characteristics of production in shifts at enterprises.

In the period of 2021-2025, communication and consulting work will be organized at 46 enterprises, focusing on the garment, footwear, rattan and rattan industries, and watchtools. These are areas with a large number of female workers and pose many potential risks to reproductive health. 92 direct communication and consultation sessions were held, attracting more than 15,000 workers to participate.

To improve the effectiveness of approach, the Trade Unions at all levels have diversified communication forms, flexibly combining direct communication, activities of the Women's Workers' Club, competitions, and thematic seminars with indirect communication through hand-to-hand documents, video clips and digital platforms. Thereby, expanding the beneficiary area, better protecting the rights, health and quality of life of female workers in the province.
