Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union: Affirming position, enhancing prestige and attractiveness
Hanoi - In the afternoon of September 10, the VGCL organized a workshop to collect opinions on the Project to organize activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union.
The workshop to collect opinions on the Project to organize activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2029) took place under the co-chairmanship of Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and Mr. Vu Anh Duc - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.
Attending were Ms. Cu Thi Hau - former Member of the Party Central Committee, former President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Standing Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour through periods; representatives of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, central mass organizations; ministries, departments, sectoral trade unions, City Labor Federation...
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Thai Thu Xuong emphasized the values that have been nurtured and affirmed through practice, with the imprints and contributions of generations of trade union officials, union members and workers; and at the same time, it is a foundation that needs to be continued to be inherited, promoted and developed in accordance with the requirements of the new era.
Looking back at a century of Vietnam Trade Unions is not only to affirm and honor the values that have been built, but also to further define the responsibilities, requirements for innovation and development orientation of the organization in the coming journey. This is also the consistent spirit of the draft Project.
The project is built in 7 parts. Including the necessity and basis for building the Project; purposes, requirements; theme of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union; content and time of organizing commemorative activities...
According to the Project, the theme to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union is "Vietnam Trade Union - a century of loyalty to the Party, attachment to workers, accompanying the nation".
One of the bases for building the Project to organize activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union is a historical milestone affirming the century of formation, construction, development and growth of the Vietnam Trade Union under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam; it is a particularly important event for the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union organization.
In addition, entering a new stage of development, the implementation of the 2024 Trade Union Law, Resolution of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress and the requirement to promote industrialization, modernization, digital transformation, digital economy development and international integration set out the requirement to continue building a modern, professional, efficient, effective and efficient Vietnam Trade Union organization, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
The requirement is that commemorative activities must be organized solemnly, practically, effectively, and simultaneously at all levels of trade unions, ensuring deep political and ideological significance, in accordance with the regulations of the Party and the State and practical conditions.
100% of grassroots-level trade unions develop projects and plans, including anniversary activities on an industry and local scale, with the participation of leaders of Party committees at the same level, with at least 1 specific project or product, meaningful and of high value to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union; 100% of grassroots trade unions respond and organize at least 1 anniversary activity suitable to the practical conditions of the grassroots level.
Promote the application of digital transformation and modern communication methods in propaganda and organization of activities; ensure accurate and timely information with widespread spread, contributing to enhancing the image and position of the Vietnam Trade Union organization.
The project also clearly states a number of activities and contests organized on this occasion. In which, Lao Dong Newspaper is the unit in charge of advising the organization of "Digital Space 100 years of Vietnam Trade Union" displaying documents and images of the 100-year construction and development process of the Vietnam Trade Union organization on a digital platform. Implementation time: From January 2027; opening in January 2029.
Speaking at the Workshop, former leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour all highly appreciated the fact that the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour had a plan to soon organize the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union.
Ms. Cu Thi Hau - former member of the Party Central Committee, former President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour highly appreciated the topic of the Project.
The former Chairman of the VGCL proposed to focus on a number of tasks such as preparing good content for the Anniversary; it is necessary to build a report on the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union organization; compile propaganda in the media; gather and honor trade union officials who sacrificed in the cause of struggle and defense of the Fatherland...
Ms. Cu Thi Hau proposed to implement a number of activities. In which, it is necessary to pay special attention to communication work in the mass media to inform union members, workers as well as grassroots trade unions; it is necessary to study to have a symbol of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union organization; allocate a part of the funding to train a team of excellent workers to supplement the team of trade union officials.
Mr. Do Duc Ngo - former Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour assessed that the Draft Project has comprehensively and comprehensively covered from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour to grassroots trade unions, thereby deeply raising the awareness of each official, union member, and worker.
According to Mr. Ngo, the history of the Vietnam Trade Union is very great, but we have not done much to recognize it, so on this occasion it is necessary to promote it, including the issue of building the Trade Union Workers' Museum.
Mr. Nguyen An Luong - former Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour emotionally said "with nearly 50 years of attachment to the Trade Union organization, in my heart there is always the image of the Trade Union organization".
Mr. Nguyen An Luong proposed that the 100th anniversary activities must draw out theories about the Trade Union organization.
Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh - former Standing Vice President of the VGCL proposed that the content of the Project should mention breakthroughs in trade union organization activities.
In addition, there should be documents about Labor Heroes, people honored in the Vietnam Glory Program...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hong - former Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour proposed that the organization of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union should have content towards the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
In addition, there needs to be a National Conference on 100 years of Vietnam Trade Unions to evaluate and have contents on theory, and on this occasion, it is necessary to select a few key projects and commend the team of trade union officials.
And Mr. Tran Van Ly - former Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour proposed that there should be content for international relations because the Vietnam Trade Union is a member of the World Federation of Trade Unions. Therefore, there should be a workshop on this issue to spread the role of the Vietnam Trade Union.
Former Vice Presidents of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour: Hoang Minh Chuc, Nguyen Van Ngang, Tran Van Thuat, Phan Van Anh contributed opinions on some activities and how to organize and implement those activities.
The workshop also received contributions from representatives of some provincial LDFs and industry trade unions.
According to the Project, the solemn ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2029) organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour is expected to take place on July 22, 2029 in Hanoi.
The 100th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour is an occasion to summarize the glorious historical journey; express gratitude to generations of trade union officials, workers, civil servants, and laborers who have contributed to the revolutionary cause; and at the same time affirm the position and role of the working class and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour organization in the new era, contributing to creating motivation to successfully implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, the Resolution of the 14th Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Congress and the goals of national development. The series of activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour is not only a widespread political activity of the working class and the Trade Union organization, but also a meaningful activity to directly prepare towards the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2030).
