On the occasion of the 97th anniversary of the publication of the first issue (August 14, 1929 - August 14, 2026), on August 13, a working delegation of Lao Dong Newspaper led by Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Hien - Secretary of the Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief - came to offer incense and flowers to commemorate leader Nguyen Duc Canh at the memorial area in Thai Thuy commune, Hung Yen province.

The delegation respectfully offered incense and flowers to commemorate comrade Nguyen Duc Canh - the outstanding leader of the workers' movement and martyr Ho Ngoc Lan - a loyal party member of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Canh is the first Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Vietnam Trade Union organization.

On July 28, 1929, at house number 15 Hang Non street, Hanoi, which was then Thuan My tobacco shop, an important conference took place, which later became a historical event: the Conference to establish the Red General Confederation of Tonkin. 7 delegates attended the conference chaired by comrade Nguyen Duc Canh. The conference elected comrade Nguyen Duc Canh as interim Chairman, deciding to publish a newspaper named Lao Dong Newspaper.

After the conference on July 28, Comrade Nguyen Duc Canh immediately started preparing to launch Lao Dong Newspaper. The newspaper location was a small house in Thong Phong alley at the beginning of Hang Bot street, today Ton Duc Thang street.
