2:20 PM: Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the 11th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor delivered the opening speech at the Conference.

Opening the opening ceremony, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said: In the exciting atmosphere of officials, trade union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers nationwide who are actively competing to bring the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress into life; celebrating the success of the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and towards the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, term 2026-2031, today, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor solemnly organized a conference to review 05 years of implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW dated May 18, 2021 of the 13th Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the 12th Politburo on "Promoting studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style"; commending advanced examples of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style in trade unions, union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers at all levels in the period 2023 - 2025.

The conference is a key activity in Workers' Month 2026, and is even more meaningful when it is held on the 136th birthday of beloved President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026).

The President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor affirmed: Beloved President Ho Chi Minh - the genius leader of our Party - has left for our nation and our people an extremely precious legacy - Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. That is the crystallization of intelligence, bravery, personality and noble soul, a light illuminating the path for the revolutionary cause of our Party and People. That legacy is not only the spiritual foundation, the guiding principle for all actions but also a great source of inner strength, helping the entire Party, people, and army overcome all difficulties and challenges, and gain glorious benefits throughout the struggle for independence, construction and defense of the Fatherland.

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always paid special attention to the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union organization. He clearly pointed out the historical mission of the working class in the revolutionary cause, and laid the foundation for the birth of the Vietnam Trade Union organization. He often advised: "Brothers and sisters, we must clearly recognize that today workers have become owners of factories, we must be worthy of that position, we must strive to make factories develop, implement increased production and thrift, combat wastefulness, and thoroughly respect labor discipline... If factories develop, it is possible to improve the lives of workers and employees". Those teachings still retain their value today, reminding each union member and worker of the spirit of responsibility, emulation in labor production to develop businesses, develop the country and improve their own lives.

Imbued with his teachings, deeply understanding the meaning and importance of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style, promoting the results achieved in implementing Directive No. 05-CT/W, after the Politburo issued Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW, the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor issued Guidance No. 37/HD-TLĐ dated October 28, 2021 and Plan No. 154/KH-TLĐ dated December 8, 2021 directing trade union levels to organize the implementation of Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW and study the entire course "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style on self-reliance, self-strengthening and aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country".

Implementing the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 100% of provincial and city labor federations; central industry trade unions, corporation trade unions directly under the General Confederation have developed programs and plans to thoroughly grasp and implement Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW of the Politburo associated with political and professional tasks and emulation movements among union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers. Trade union levels have organized tens of thousands of conferences, seminars, workshops, thematic activities and propaganda and dissemination activities on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, attracting tens of millions of union members and workers to participate. The entire trade union system has built and maintained thousands of creative models and effective ways of studying and following Uncle Ho such as: "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space", "Study and follow Uncle Ho Corner", "Workers follow Uncle Ho's words", "Promoting traditions, dedicating talents, worthy of Uncle Ho's soldiers"... In particular, thoroughly grasping Uncle Ho's ideology on patriotic emulation, trade union levels focused on launching emulation movements, the core of which is the "Good Labor, Creative Labor" movement, achieving many important results, contributing to the overall development of the country. Over the past 5 years, through emulation movements launched by the Trade Union, union members and workers have proposed nearly 2.8 million initiatives applied in practice, benefiting the State and businesses by nearly 103 trillion VND.

The work of discovering, commending, rewarding, and replicating good models, effective practices, and typical examples in studying and following Uncle Ho has been promptly and strongly focused on grassroots levels and union members and direct workers. In the past 5 years, trade union levels have commended and rewarded nearly 96,000 individuals and nearly 30,000 collectives with typical achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style, contributing to spreading positive values and creating motivation for emulation among union members, workers, and trade union organizations.

According to the Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor commended 43 collectives and 88 typical advanced individuals in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style at all levels of trade unions, union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers in the period 2023 - 2025. Among the collectives and individuals commended, there are 81.4% of grassroots-level collectives; 22.7% of individuals holding leadership and professional management positions; 22.7% of individuals are union members and direct workers; 54.6% of individuals are trade union officials, of which, mainly grassroots trade union officials. Collectives belonging to many different industries and localities, individuals in many positions and fields of work, some are leaders and managers carrying heavy responsibilities on their shoulders, some are creative trade union officials, some are dedicated direct workers, some are workers who unfortunately suffered labor accidents, but with extraordinary will, determination and spiritual motivation from studying Uncle Ho, they have risen strongly and confidently.

On behalf of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Anh Tuan warmly praised and congratulated 131 typical advanced collectives and individuals studying and following Uncle Ho who were commended at today's Conference, the fragrant flowers in the flower garden of studying and following Uncle Ho of the Trade Union organization.

Through the specific and vivid stories of the comrades, the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style has been widely spread, becoming a strong spiritual motivation, fostering belief, arousing the will to rise up, the spirit of responsibility and the desire to contribute in each trade union official, union member, and worker" - said the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Also in his opening speech, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor raised the issue: Faced with the requirements of the new context and situation, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style is becoming increasingly necessary, not only as an important solution, a foundation to maintain the revolutionary ethics of cadres and party members, contributing to building a clean and strong Party and political system, but also as a strong spiritual motivation to promote the entire Party, people, and army to overcome difficulties and challenges to successfully implement the two 100-year strategic goals in the spirit of the 14th Party Congress Resolution. Promoting the results achieved after 5 years of implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW and 10 years of implementing Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo, Trade Union levels continue to promote further, bringing studying and following Uncle Ho among cadres, union members, and workers to become more and more substantive. Strengthen propaganda to raise awareness about the meaning, importance and responsibility of cadres, union members, and workers in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style. Effectively implement Directive No. 58-CT/TW dated January 10, 2026 of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in propaganda and political, ideological, and legal education for workers in the new situation", which focuses on the content of Ho Chi Minh's thought, the Party's guidelines, and the State's policies and laws. More clearly and appropriately concretize the criteria of "learning", "following" for each target group of trade union officials, union members, and workers and seriously and effectively implement them on the basis of applying digital platforms... Continue to promote existing effective models, research and develop, and replicate models suitable to new requirements; and at the same time pay attention to detecting, praising, and promptly rewarding advanced examples, good people, and good deeds to further spread the study and following of Uncle Ho in the Trade Union organization, union members, and workers, contributing to building a modern and strong Vietnamese working class and a comprehensively strong Trade Union organization.

Being praised as an advanced example in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style, Mr. Tran Thien - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Nam Can Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company, under the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation - said that this is a great honor, and also a motivation for him to continue to better care for the lives, jobs and regimes for workers.

Sharing his feelings when being commended as an advanced example of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style, Mr. Tran Thien said that he is very honored to be recognized by trade union levels for their efforts in the process of trade union activities in the past time.

According to Mr. Thien, studying and following Uncle Ho's example is concretized by practical and close-knit actions with union members and workers at the enterprise.

My main job is to care for and take care of the lives of employees in the company; monitor and propose the full implementation of regimes and policies for employees such as social insurance, collective housing and rights according to the provisions of law," he shared.

Currently, the grassroots trade union of Nam Can Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company has more than 400 trade union members. With the characteristics of the seafood industry that often fluctuates labor, Mr. Thien believes that what workers want most is a stable job to feel secure and stick with it for a long time.

We hope that levels and sectors will have more support policies to stabilize industries, help businesses develop sustainably, so that workers have stable jobs and do not have to go far to earn a living," he said.

Having been a trade union official for 12 years, participating in trade union work at Phuong Thao Phat Construction and Trading Investment Co., Ltd. for 10 years, for me, learning from Uncle Ho is learning the simplest things. The simplest things are easier to apply to work and daily life," Ms. Linh said.

For Ms. Linh, learning from Uncle Ho is learning the spirit of lifelong learning. "Every day, I try to learn something new, even the smallest thing in work, in life. Through that, learning not only helps me cultivate skills but also perfects my life skills," Ms. Linh shared.

Currently, the grassroots trade union of Phuong Thao Phat Investment Construction and Trading Co., Ltd. has 104 employees, including 28 female employees.

Exchanging on the sidelines of the Commendation Ceremony for Advanced Examples of Studying and Following Ho Chi Minh's Thought, Morality, and Style, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Anh - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Iko Thompson Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Hai Phong) - the individual honored, said that today's award is a motivation for her to continue to contribute and accompany workers, especially in the FDI enterprise environment with many pressures and specific characteristics.
