Pension, social insurance benefits: The following cases will stop receiving benefits from 2026
Many subjects may have their pensions and monthly social insurance benefits suspended or terminated from 2026.
Clause 1, Clause 2, Article 75 of the Law on Social Insurance 2024 has detailed regulations on cases of suspension or termination of monthly pension and social insurance benefits.
In case of suspension or termination of pension and allowance
Temporarily suspending monthly pension and social insurance benefits for beneficiaries in one of the following cases:
- Illegal exit.
- Declared missing by the Court.
- When the beneficiary's information cannot be verified.
In case of pension and allowance termination
End the receipt of monthly pension and social insurance benefits for beneficiaries in one of the following cases:
- Died or declared dead by the Court.
- Reject to receive monthly pension and social insurance benefits in writing.
- The conclusion of the competent authority on social insurance benefits is not in accordance with the law.

Cases of continued pension after suspension
Pursuant to Clause 1 and Clause 2, Article 75 of the Law on Social Insurance 2024, cases of pension suspension in Section 1 will continue to be paid in the following cases:
For the monthly pension of the subjects specified in Section 1. 1 and died or was declared dead by the Court:
Continue to be paid when falling into one of the following cases:
- People illegally leaving the country return.
- There is a decision of the Court to cancel the decision to declare missing or the decision to declare dead.
- Subject of Clause (iii) Section 1 has verified the information according to regulations.
Note: Pension includes pension, monthly social insurance benefits for the period not yet received.
In case of refusal to receive pension in writing:
Continue to pay from the time the social insurance agency receives the written request to receive a monthly pension and social insurance allowance and does not include the monthly pension and social insurance allowance for the period not yet received due to refusal to receive.
Note, only those who are temporarily suspended from receiving pensions and benefits and those declared dead by the Court can continue to pay, including pensions and monthly allowances for the period not yet received if they fall into one of the following cases:
- People illegally leaving the country return.
- There is a decision of the Court to cancel the decision to declare missing or the decision to declare dead.
- In case of temporary suspension of pension benefits due to failure to verify beneficiary information, continue to receive payment when the beneficiary information is verified with the social insurance agency or a service organization authorized by the social insurance agency.
