More than 70% of Collective Labor Agreements are more beneficial to employees
The work of negotiating, signing and implementing Collective Labor Agreements (CLAs) continues to be one of the key tasks of grassroots trade unions and the Vietnam Trade Union, with increasingly improved quality.
Approximately 400 CLAs have been updated
Currently, the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade (VTC) manages and directs 14 trade unions at the grassroots level and 502 affiliated trade unions, with 140,176 union members out of a total of 145,751 workers (a rate of 96.1%), including 43,616 female workers.
Mr. Le An Hai - Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - said that, closely following the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor have guided trade unions at all levels to implement many activities in a timely manner, in line with production and business practices; taking care of the lives of union members and workers; supervising the implementation of labor laws, social insurance policies, health insurance, unemployment insurance, wages, bonuses, etc.
According to records, the employment and life of workers are basically stable, with an average income of about 8.4 million VND/person/month.
Mr. Le An Hai added that the negotiation and signing of the Collective Labor Agreement has achieved high results.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor promotes dialogue and collective bargaining at the industry level and business groups; organizes training and coaching on dialogue and collective bargaining skills for more than 1,000 union officials in charge of dialogue and negotiation work. As a result, over 90% of enterprises that have established grassroots trade unions have signed collective labor agreements, with more than 70% of collective labor agreements having more provisions that are more beneficial to employees than those prescribed by law. In the past time, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has also coordinated with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, grassroots trade unions and foreign trade union organizations to organize training programs for trade union officials on negotiation skills, negotiation and signing of collective labor agreements.
Diversifying activities to support workers in difficulty
The social work of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor continues to be implemented with many rich contents, creating a spread throughout the industry.
On the occasion of the gratitude Month, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor presented gifts to 450 subjects at 45 grassroots unions and a unit outside the industry, with a total amount of nearly 500 million VND; and visited policy families.
Through the "Union Shelter" program, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor supported 676 million VND to build 50 new houses and repair 3 houses for union members and workers in difficult circumstances. The "Union Tet Market" program also brought practical results, with 2,560 union members receiving vouchers worth VND500,000 to shop online.
In the union member welfare program, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has signed 8 cooperation agreements, helping union members and workers enjoy incentives when using the agreed services.
Recently, implementing the call of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the instructions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on supporting people in the Central and Central Highlands to overcome the consequences of floods, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Trade Union has gone to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to present 1.57 billion VND - the amount contributed by trade unions at all levels, union members and workers in the whole industry in the campaign "All people support people in the Central and Central Highlands to overcome the consequences of floods". The funding level demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and mutual love of the team of cadres, union members, and workers in the Industry and Trade sector joining hands to support people in flooded areas to overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor affirms that it will continue to accompany trade unions at all levels, promote the tradition of mutual love, contribute to sharing difficulties with people in the Central and Central Highlands provinces, helping people soon overcome the damage caused by natural disasters - Mr. Le An Hai said.
