Ham Thang Ward Trade Union promptly supports workers in flood-prone areas
Lam Dong - More than 200 million VND has been donated by trade unions at all levels to union members in Ham Thang ward who suffered damage due to storms and floods, helping to soon stabilize their lives.
On January 21, Ms. Tran Thi Xuan Tham - Chairwoman of Ham Thang Ward Trade Union (Lam Dong Province) said that, authorized by Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation, the Ward Trade Union organized a support handover ceremony for union members and workers affected by the second storm and flood in 2025.
This support is for cases affected by the flooding that occurred in early December 2025. Ham Thang ward is identified as one of the "flood center" areas, heavily affected by natural disasters.
Many families of workers and laborers had their houses deeply flooded, their property was damaged, and their lives were difficult after the flood.

According to the funding allocation of Lam Dong Provincial Federation of Labor, in the second support period, Ham Thang Ward Union was allocated 233 support packages to union members and workers.
Of which, there are 12 gifts of 1 million VND/goal, the remaining gifts are at 500,000 VND. The total support budget for this period is 122.5 million VND, drawn from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The selection of subjects and support levels is based on reviewing the level of property damage of each worker household. Thereby, ensuring support for the right subjects and real needs.
Immediately after receiving the funding allocation, Ham Thang Ward Trade Union coordinated with the grassroots trade unions under the organization to provide timely support to union members and workers affected. The support parts are delivered directly to workers, helping them have more resources to overcome immediate difficulties.

Although the value of each support period cannot compensate for all the damage caused by natural disasters, this is a timely sharing, demonstrating the role, responsibility and companionship of the trade union organization for union members and workers in difficult times.
Previously, in the first support period after the flood in November 2025, from the budget of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation, the Ham Thang Ward Trade Union was allocated 110 support packages.
In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ham Thang Ward also mobilized benefactors to provide an additional 20 gifts, worth a total of 20 million VND.
In total, through the two phases, the total amount of support for union members and workers affected by storms and floods in Ham Thang ward is more than 200 million VND.
In the context of the approaching Lunar New Year, when many workers' families are still worried about natural disasters, timely support from the trade union organization not only has material significance but is also an important source of spiritual encouragement, helping workers confidently overcome difficulties, gradually stabilize their lives and celebrate Tet in less difficult conditions.
