Phu Quoc will implement many practical activities to support workers

On May 11, at the headquarters of the Phu Quoc Special Zone Trade Union, the working delegation of the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation had a working session with the Executive Committee of the Phu Quoc Special Zone Trade Union on the situation of trade union activities in the first quarter of 2026 and the deployment of key tasks in Workers' Month 2026.

At the working session, the Executive Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone Trade Union reported on the results of trade union activities in the first quarter of 2026 of affiliated grassroots trade unions; the situation of union members and workers; the work of caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers. Besides the advantages, the units also raised some difficulties in trade union activities at non-state enterprises, the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions.

Responding to Workers' Month 2026, Phu Quoc Special Zone Trade Union plans to implement many practical activities such as visiting and supporting workers in difficult circumstances; organizing cultural, artistic, and sports activities; strengthening dialogue and grasping the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers.

Speaking at the working session, Mr. Nguyen Nhat Tien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation, Head of the Trade Union Affairs Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Phu Quoc Special Zone Trade Union in the past time, especially the work of accompanying and caring for the lives of union members and workers. At the same time, he requested the Executive Committee of the Special Zone Trade Union to continue to innovate the content and methods of operation; guide grassroots trade unions to focus on better caring for the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers, especially in non-state enterprises.

In addition, it is necessary to promote the work of developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions; effectively implement activities of Workers' Month 2026 in a practical direction, strongly towards grassroots levels, contributing to building an increasingly strong Trade Union organization.
