Grassroots trade unions and enterprises take care of workers' lives

On the afternoon of November 29, the Trade Union of Rochdale Spears Company Limited held the 8th delegation conference for the 2025-2030 term in Tan Khanh ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

The conference approved a report on trade union activities in the recent past and the direction for the 2025 - 2030 term.

Accordingly, Rochdale Spears Co., Ltd. is a 100% foreign-owned enterprise (UK) specializing in export timber production with 4,187 employees.

In the past, the Trade Union has coordinated with the Board of Directors of the company to take good care of the lives of union members and workers.

Many meaningful programs are implemented such as: visiting and giving gifts to all union members during Tet; organizing a Tet market for all union members to participate; giving gifts to workers in difficult circumstances; organizing activities on the occasion of holidays during the year, etc.

Organize timely visits and encouragement to each union member whenever she and her family have work.

In addition, the grassroots trade union quickly grasps especially difficult circumstances, serious illnesses, and deaths. The union organizes a campaign for union members to donate to help with the spirit of "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves" to help each other overcome difficulties in life.

During the past term, the grassroots union has donated to the families of 10 union members who died with a total amount of: 1.17 billion VND. In addition, there are many cases where union members have unfortunate accidents, occupational diseases, and serious illnesses, and the grassroots union has supported them with 2-5 million VND.

Attending the conference, Ms. Hoang Yen - Legal Director of Rochdale Spears Company Limited gave a speech. Ms. Hoang Yen assessed that the activities of the trade union have contributed significantly to improving labor productivity, improving the working environment and maintaining stable labor relations throughout the company.

In the coming time, Ms. Hoang Yen hopes that the Executive Board of the Trade Union will continue to better care for the lives of workers, ensure full implementation of policies, promptly grasp the thoughts and recommendations of union members; Improve the quality of dialogue and collective bargaining, build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations; Strengthen emulation movements, encourage technical innovation initiatives, improve productivity - quality - work efficiency.... The company's Trade Union will continue to promote the achievements that have been achieved, affirming its role as a solid support for workers and an effective bridge between workers and company leaders.

The conference announced the resolution and introduced the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of Rochdale Spears Company Limited for the 2025-2030 term. In which, Mr. Truong Thanh Dung - as Chairman of the company's Trade Union, Ms. Tong My Chau and Mr. Mai Van Can as Vice Chairman of the company's Trade Union.
