Conference to deploy the work of ensuring traffic order and safety in the new situation
On December 1, 2024, in Da Nang City, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) held a conference to disseminate, propagate and implement Directive No. 23-CT/TW dated May 25, 2023 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in ensuring traffic order and safety in the new situation" (Directive No. 23. 23.
Information from the Conference said that in order to create strong and positive changes in ensuring traffic order and safety, persistently building a culture of law compliance and civilized behavior when participating in traffic; sustainably reducing traffic accidents and basically limiting traffic congestion, towards a safe, convenient and environmentally friendly transport system, the Prime Minister has also issued an action program to implement the above Directive.
Through practical understanding, the situation of workers violating the law on traffic safety and order such as: going in the wrong direction, lining up on the road; violating regulations on speed, alcohol concentration; not wearing a helmet when riding motorbikes, mopeds, electric motorbikes; driving in the wrong lane on the road... is still quite common.
To ensure traffic safety and order for workers, especially in industrial parks and export processing zones, and at the same time specify the direction of the Secretariat and the Government, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor issued Program No. 02/CTr-TLD, dated January 25, 2024 on promoting the dissemination of Directive No. 23, thereby raising awareness of union officials, union members and workers in ensuring traffic order and safety, continuing to reduce traffic accidents and basically limit traffic congestion.
At the conference, over 100 part-time grassroots union officials (not receiving budget salaries) in Da Nang City were informed by reporters about the instructions of the Secretariat, the Government and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on ensuring traffic order and safety in the new situation.
In addition, officers of the Traffic Police Department - Da Nang City Police also disseminated basic knowledge about the Road Traffic Law and related contents related to ensuring traffic order and safety; analyzed and warned of common violations and potential risks to road traffic accidents for people traveling by motorbike or motorbike.
