Ministry of Education and Training clarifies the conversion of teaching hours with teachers fostering excellent students
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, teachers assigned to nurture excellent students are converted to 1 lesson of teaching directly or online, with a maximum of no more than 2 standard periods.
On the Government Electronic Information Portal, Ms. T.T is a secondary school Physical Education teacher, assigned to train the school's team of excellent students in physical education and sports to participate in exams at all levels. Ms. T asked, how many teaching hours is 1 tutoring hour of hers converted?
The school principal, Ms. T, said that because Circular No. 05/2025/TT-BGDĐT stipulates that tutoring students in Phu Dong Health Festivals is only converted to 1 period equal to 2 periods, while she tutors to participate in provincial-level student sports tournaments, so it is not converted to teaching periods.
Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Education and Training answers as follows:
The working regime of general education teachers is implemented according to the provisions of Circular No. 05/2025/TT-BGDĐT dated March 7, 2025 of the Minister of Education and Training.
According to the provisions of Clause 4, Article 13 of this Circular, for activities to foster excellent students (including physical education), 1 lesson of teaching directly or online is converted to a maximum of no more than 2 standard lesson periods.
In case Ms. T.T is assigned to participate in fostering excellent students, she reports to the principal for the school to consider and implement the conversion of teaching hours according to regulations.
