Clause 1, Article 6, Decree 335/2026/ND-CP Regulating social assistance policies (effective from October 5, 2026) stipulates that Subjects specified in Article 5 of this Decree are entitled to monthly social allowances with a level equal to the standard social assistance level specified in Clause 2, Article 4 of this Decree multiplied by the corresponding coefficient.
Clauses 1, 2, Article 4 of Decree 335/2026/ND-CP Regulating social assistance policies (effective from October 5, 2026) stipulate: The standard level of social assistance is the basis for determining the level of social allowance, the level of financial support for receiving care and nurturing; the level of care and nurturing at social assistance facilities, elderly care facilities, disability care facilities, child care facilities and other care and nurturing facilities (hereinafter referred to as social assistance facilities) and other social assistance levels. The standard level of social assistance is 540,000 VND/month.
Clause 5, Article 5 of Decree 335/2026/ND-CP, the elderly who fall into one of the following cases are eligible for regular social assistance in the community:
a) Elderly people from poor households, who do not have people with obligations and rights to support or have people with obligations and rights to support but these people are receiving monthly social allowances;
b) Elderly people from poor households, who do not have people with obligations and rights to support them, do not have conditions to live in the community, are eligible to be admitted to social assistance facilities but have people to nurture and care for them in the community.
Thus, from October 5, 2026, elderly people in the above-mentioned cases are eligible for monthly social assistance.
