How are elderly people supported in terms of employment?

Article 13 of the 2025 Employment Law stipulates policies to support employment for elderly workers as follows:

1. Being able to borrow capital to support job creation, maintain, and expand jobs according to the provisions of this Law.

2. Be supported with training and fostering to improve professional skills, supported to participate in assessment and issuance of national professional skills certificates according to the provisions of this Law.

3. Based on socio-economic conditions in each period and budget balancing capacity, the State has policies to support job creation, retraining, and vocational conversion training for workers to adapt to population aging.

Clause 3, Article 11, of the 2025 Employment Law stipulates public employment policies as follows:

3. Priority is given to participating in public employment for workers who are ethnic minorities; people from poor households, near-poor households; elderly people; people with disabilities; people in households directly nurturing and caring for people with severe disabilities; people who receive nurturing and caring for people with severe disabilities; people whose land is recovered who are eligible for support for training, vocational conversion and job search according to the provisions of land law.

Point d, Clause 3, Article 22 of the 2025 Employment Law stipulates the content, supporting the development of vocational skills, in which, the state supports workers belonging to the following subjects when participating in training, fostering, improving vocational skills and assessing, issuing national vocational skills certificates, including:

d) Elderly people;

Thus, the elderly can enjoy employment support policies according to the above regulations.
