Requesting to focus on inspecting and examining projects to purchase weapons and equipment using large budgets
The military's inspection work focuses on key programs and projects investing in purchases using large budgets, areas that are prone to negative incidents.
On January 13, the Ministry of National Defense held a summary of the work of the judiciary, inspection, legal status, audit and work on 1,389 crimes, smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the defense sector in 2025; deploying tasks in 2026.
In 2025, the fight against violations and crimes on borders, seas and islands will be carried out regularly and effectively by the authorities.
Of which, the Border Guard force presided over and coordinated the successful fight against 105 special projects, arresting more than 7,600 cases with nearly 12,000 subjects; prosecuting 592 cases with 796 subjects; the total amount of administrative fines and the value of temporarily detained goods was more than 353 billion VND.
The Vietnam Coast Guard discovered, arrested and handled 1,545 cases with more than 2,100 subjects; effectively carried out propaganda, prevent and combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing violations.
Concluding the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Head of the Steering Committee 1389 of the Ministry of National Defense - praised the results achieved by agencies and units in the entire army in the past time;
At the same time, it is required that agencies and units in the coming time create a breakthrough in the work of building and perfecting legal institutions, mechanisms and policies on military, defense and cryptography.
Senior General Vo Minh Luong also requested agencies and units to proactively grasp and strictly manage the situation of violations and crimes related to the army. Clearly identify the causes, conditions and closely forecast the situation, promptly and effectively advise Party committees and commanders at all levels to do a good job of fighting and preventing violations and crimes.
Continue to effectively implement projects, regulations, and plans on legal work, inspection, justice, dissemination, legal education, and work 1389.
Notably, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong also requested agencies and units to focus on comprehensively implementing inspection, examination and auditing activities to promptly detect, rectify and promptly handle violations.
In particular, focusing on inspecting, examining, and auditing key programs and projects investing in purchasing materials and weapons and equipment using large budgets and areas prone to negative incidents.
The Border Guard and the Vietnam Coast Guard will step up patrolling, inspection, control, and handling of law violations, fight against crime, smuggling, trade fraud, human trafficking, illegal entry and exit, and prevent and combat IUU fishing.
Strengthen international cooperation in the fields of law, inspection, justice and work 1389; effectively coordinate between law enforcement agencies, inspection, justice, auditing and Steering Committees 1389 at all levels in the Army with agencies, units and functional forces of ministries, branches and localities.
