Building 5 light overpasses and 3 mobile bridges to reduce congestion in Hanoi

Recently, the Hanoi People's Committee has issued a decision approving the investment policy for the Project to build 3 repaint Bailey bridges to prevent bridge incidents, organize traffic, and prevent traffic congestion in the city.
The project to build Bailey bridges for preservation can be deployed on To Lich, Kim Nguu, Lu, Set, Nhue rivers... to connect traffic in the area on both sides of the river and to promptly handle incidents of bridge damage due to natural disasters or weak bridges during operation to promptly reduce traffic congestion, ensure safety and convenient connection when bridge incidents occur, or when traffic needs arise in the city.
The Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction as the investor with an estimated budget of nearly 15 billion VND, implemented in 2025-2026.
In addition, the Hanoi Department of Construction has also proposed building 5 more overpasses at 5 intersections with large traffic volume to handle traffic congestion.
The 5 intersections proposed to soon implement the construction of overpasses are the intersections of Co Linh - Thach Ban (Long Bien district), Chau Van Liem - Le Quang Dao (Nam Tu Liem district), Hoang Minh Giam - Nguyen Tuan (Thanh Xuan district), Co Bi - Ngo Xuan Quang and Nguyen Huy Nhuan - Ly Thanh Tong (all in Gia Lam district).
A representative of the Hanoi Department of Construction said that in early 2025, there will be a total of 37 locations in the city, the traffic congestion axis includes 20 transition points in 2024 and 5 locations, 12 traffic congestion axes in 2025.
In the coming time, the Hanoi Department of Construction will continue to coordinate with the City Police to handle traffic organization, ensure safety and order, reduce congestion and resolve related recommendations. The focus is on handling traffic congestion points in 2025, especially in areas with high traffic density during rush hour" - said a representative of the Department of Construction.
Regarding maintenance work, the Department of Construction has directed management and maintenance units to strengthen patrols, inspections of road bridges, traffic lights, railway crossings, inland waterways, etc. to promptly repair damages to ensure smooth and smooth traffic. In addition, the Department of Construction will coordinate the development of zoning plans to limit the operation of motorbikes, in accordance with the infrastructure and service capacity of the public passenger transport system, towards stopping the operation of motorbikes in the districts by 2030; Project to collect tolls for motor vehicles in some areas in the city at risk of traffic congestion and environmental pollution, to limit the number of motor vehicles entering.
